Chapter 52: The Seal of the Immovable King (2)
“A person at the peak of the Strength Stage need only take this to reach the Essence Stage. Although it is only effective for mortals at the Strength Stage, it is more precious than many advanced elixirs,” Yan Chuan said in a low voice.
“What? Someone at the peak of the Strength Stage can reach the Essence Stage just by taking it?” Liu Jin exclaimed in astonishment.
Huo Guang’s eyes glimmered with excitement as he gazed at the pill.
“Put it away. This pill is no ordinary thing. I did not expect Mo Yuxi to be so generous. Such a treasure must come with a price. It seems we must be even more cautious from now on,” Yan Chuan said solemnly.
“Yes, sir!” everyone responded in unison.
—
A crane let out a long, clear cry as it carried Mo Yuxi, soaring through the sky.
It soon veered toward a nearby white cloud, upon which a small white boat floated.
The crane landed on the boat, and Mo Yuxi leapt down onto it as well.
On the boat, four subordinates including Azure Dragon stood respectfully, while Mister Wenruo, Yang Zhijiu, and Ding Wugu all gazed down below.
Below them stretched a dense forest.
A unit of silver-armored soldiers was making its way through the woods.
A large sedan chair, carrying Yan Chuan, moved forward at a slow pace.
—
“Heh, that fellow really knows how to enjoy himself. Even as a guide, he still has people carry him in a sedan?” Yang Zhijiu looked down with clear annoyance at Yan Chuan, who was indulging in comfort.
“Exactly. He thinks he’s something special,” Ding Wugu sneered, glaring downward.
Mister Wenruo said nothing, but instead looked to Mo Yuxi. “Saintess, did you get a clear look this time?”
“Yes. These past days, I’ve made a full circuit. This is a circular Feng Shui formation! And just ahead, there’s an entrance,” Mo Yuxi nodded.
“Then let’s take that one. We mustn’t enter through the southwestern entrance—last time we barely made it out alive. Thankfully, Yuxi was there to help,” Yang Zhijiu immediately added.
“Hm? The silver-armored soldiers below have stopped?” Mister Wenruo’s expression shifted.
“Let’s go down,” Mo Yuxi said.
“Alright,” everyone nodded.
“Little Crane, go catch two beasts for their meal,” Mo Yuxi instructed the crane.
With a cry, the crane flapped its wings and flew off.
“What’s the point of catching beasts for them?” Ding Wugu grumbled.
“We’re about to enter the formation. These people are meant to die anyway. Ding Wugu, what are you worried about? Let them at least die with full bellies,” Yang Zhijiu laughed.
“You’re right, ha!” Ding Wugu said with a hearty laugh.
Mo Yuxi and Mister Wenruo said nothing more.
—
Yang Zhijiu had a powerful father, and Ding Wugu was skilled in Feng Shui—both would be useful once they entered the formation.
Below lay a vast valley.
Yan Chuan stepped out from the sedan. In front of him loomed a wall of mist as sheer as the sky, but on this side, a crack had appeared in the white mist. Peering through the gap, all was pitch black and chilling to the core.
“My lord, when I scouted the perimeter before, this crack wasn’t here,” Huo Guang said with a frown.
“This Feng Shui formation was broken open when the Nine Stars Aligned, allowing entry. Don’t concern yourself with these details. First, have the soldiers eat,” Yan Chuan instructed.
“Yes, sir!” Huo Guang replied.
“Why have we stopped? It’s been three days already—so this is how you act as a guide?” came a grating voice.
The group landed from the sky; Ding Wugu, wearing an expression of disgust, began to berate him.
A flash of murderous intent flickered in Yan Chuan’s eyes, but he turned to Mo Yuxi instead. “Miss Mo, have you surveyed the terrain around us?”
“I flew around once—it’s a circular Feng Shui formation with a total of eight entrances,” Mo Yuxi replied with a nod.
