Chapter 51: The Immoveable Vajra Seal (1)
Chapter Sixteen: The Seal of the Immovable King
Evening had fallen.
Yan Chuan remained within the military camp.
Outside the command tent, a multitude of guards stood watch.
Inside, Yan Chuan faced Huo Guang and Liu Jin.
“At dawn tomorrow, we set out for that grand geomantic array. The array holds countless illusions, blurring the line between reality and fantasy. Progress within it depends not merely on cultivation, but far more on the nature of one’s heart. I shall teach you a set of hand seals; tonight, you must ensure that everyone learns them!” Yan Chuan spoke solemnly.
Hand seals? Huo Guang and Liu Jin’s eyes lit up.
“Yes!” Huo Guang responded with excitement.
“This set is called the ‘Seal of the Immovable King.’ There are fourteen seals in total, enabling calm amidst confusion—steadfast as a mountain!” Yan Chuan explained.
“Yes!”
“The fourteen seals are: the Solitary Vajra Seal, Treasure Mountain Seal, Head Seal, Eye Seal, Mouth Seal, Heart Seal, Armor Seal, Lion’s Roar Seal, Flame Seal, Flame Wheel Seal, Merchant Seal, Sword Seal, Lasso Seal, and Three Vajra Seal!”
Yan Chuan demonstrated each of the fourteen seals with his hands, for Huo Guang to learn.
The seals were not difficult to master; within half an hour, Huo Guang had memorized them all.
“Your Highness, this Seal of the Immovable King… it seems…” Huo Guang frowned.
“What is it?” Yan Chuan asked in confusion.
“Is it really useful just to make these gestures?” Huo Guang voiced his doubts.
He had expected some powerful celestial technique, but after a while, all he’d learned were unusual hand positions. Huo Guang was somewhat disappointed.
Yan Chuan chuckled, “It’s normal that you don’t sense the subtlety. This is a rare set of seals in the cultivation world. Those with spiritual power can use them to shake mountains and rivers, subdue monsters and demons. You are only at the elementary stage of cultivation, so their full power is beyond you, but to remain unmoved and guard your heart, they are quite effective. Especially in the geomantic array, they will be of great use!” Yan Chuan spoke gravely.
“Yes!” Huo Guang’s expression became resolute.
“There is also a ten-character mantra to accompany the seals. Commit it to memory!” Yan Chuan said in a low voice.
“Yes!”
“Namo Sanmanda Vajra Ram!” Yan Chuan intoned.
“Namo Sanmanda Vajra Ram!” Huo Guang repeated.
“Very good. You have one night—make sure the entire army learns this. Do not practice on the journey, keep it secret as much as possible!” Yan Chuan instructed.
“Yes! I will ensure the whole army learns it!” Huo Guang responded solemnly.
“Your Highness!” a voice called from outside the tent.
“What is it?” Yan Chuan asked.
“Someone from the Immortal Sect requests an audience!”
“Oh?” Yan Chuan was slightly surprised and stepped outside.
Outside, it was none other than Mo Yuxi’s subordinate, the black-clad Qinglong.
Qinglong was somewhat burly, appearing exceptionally capable.
“Master Yan, the Saintess sent me to deliver this item to you, fulfilling the compensation she promised earlier!” Qinglong handed over a small jade bottle.
As Huo Guang and the surrounding soldiers looked at Qinglong with undisguised hostility, Yan Chuan kept his composure, took the bottle without much inspection, and addressed Qinglong, “Then please thank your Saintess for me.”
“Mm,” Qinglong nodded and withdrew.
“Your Highness, we don’t need their pretentious gestures!” Huo Guang said bitterly.
Yan Chuan glanced at Huo Guang and smiled with satisfaction—he appreciated Huo Guang’s proud spirit.
“Grievances remain in my heart; I will not forget them! Besides, the vendetta is still unavenged!” Yan Chuan comforted him.
“Yes!” Huo Guang could only nod.
Opening the small jade bottle, Yan Chuan found a single emerald-green pill inside.
“A Refined Essence Pill?” Yan Chuan’s eyes narrowed.
“Your Highness, what is a Refined Essence Pill?” Liu Jin asked curiously.
