Chapter Seven: The Trembling Sword

“Hmph, boasting so shamelessly—killing? I don’t know who will kill whom!” The Crown Prince of Chu said angrily.

Yan Chuan paid no attention. Caressing the Jade Emperor’s sword, he cast a cold glare across the room, casually flicking a glance at the Third Senior Brother beside Liu Gang.

Huo Guang stared intently at the approaching Zhang Gongfeng and said, “In my life, I hate traitors above all.”

“Traitor? Hmph, I’m merely a servant. To Great Yan, I stay or leave as I please!” Zhang Gongfeng spoke without a trace of guilt.

“Great Yan has raised you for many years, and this is how you repay it? Even a dog raised knows loyalty! But you, you’re not even as good as a dog!” Huo Guang shouted.

With a swift swing of his long sword, a blue sword light suddenly shot forth, aiming straight at Huo Guang.

“Hmph!” Huo Guang’s eyes narrowed as he snatched up a spear from the ground.

“Die!” Huo Guang roared fiercely.

Taking a bow step, he pivoted his foot and exerted tremendous force, causing numerous cracks to splinter across the ground.

The spear emitted a white glow, colliding explosively with the blue sword light.

“Boom!”

The clash of weapons shattered Zhang Gongfeng’s long sword into two broken pieces.

“How could this be!” Zhang Gongfeng cried out in shock.

At that moment, Huo Guang’s eyes widened as the will of the Conqueror Star reemerged, a fierce killing intent surging fiercely toward Zhang Gongfeng.

The intensity of the killing intent shook Zhang Gongfeng’s mind.

“The spear that kills old dogs!” Huo Guang said coldly.

The spear trembled violently in his hand.

“Boom!”

Zhang Gongfeng exploded apart, flesh and blood splattering across the ground. His death was gruesome; the scene was horrifically bloody.

His head rolled to the feet of the Crown Prince of Chu, who was so frightened that he stumbled backward repeatedly.

“Ah—ah!” The Crown Prince fell to the ground in terror upon seeing Zhang Gongfeng’s head.

“Hahaha!” The soldiers of Yan erupted into loud laughter.

No matter what, Huo Guang represented Great Yan, and with this decisive victory, the soldiers were all exceedingly elated.

The Yan Emperor narrowed his eyes, fixing his gaze on Huo Guang.

“If only this man were my subject,” the Yan Emperor mused inwardly.

The crown princes of the four states all wore grim expressions.

After executing Zhang Gongfeng with his spear, Huo Guang turned his gaze toward the Zheng Kingdom.

As Huo Guang advanced, the Crown Prince of Zheng’s face changed.

Behind him, the group of attendants also looked grim. They wished to step forward, but Zhang Gongfeng’s previous death was so terrible—who would want to die so quickly? Just one round, only one!

The Crown Prince of Zheng was about to select his attendant when Liu Gang suddenly grabbed his arm, gently shaking his head.

“But he has the will of the Conqueror Star. I’m worried,” Liu Gang said with a troubled expression.

“You can’t beat him?” Third Senior Brother sneered.
