Chapter Fourteen: Am I Really That Impressive?
“I obey the organization’s arrangements. As long as I can avenge myself, the rewards aren’t so important,” Qin Feng replied. His answer was clever, a subtle balance of loyalty and ambition.
Su Yun nodded lightly, recognizing the wisdom behind his words. He was evidently a man of intellect. Her expression remained icy, and she continued, “I know you might want to know my identity, but I’m sorry, I can’t tell you. You know the rules. Perhaps we’ll meet again someday. There’s still some time left on the way back. To thank you for your help, I’ll teach you sniper marksmanship. You have great potential—how much you learn depends on yourself.
You must learn earnestly.”
“Are you serious?” Qin Feng asked. He had learned marksmanship from Old Qin, but he believed Su Yun’s sniper skills were exceptional as well. If he could learn from her, his own skills would greatly improve.
“Of course. You still have three magazines, right? I have four more. The way back should be safe, and keeping these bullets would be wasteful. Instead, I’ll teach you sniper marksmanship—what you learn will be yours.”
Su Yun spoke as she seemingly conjured four magazines from her person, causing Qin Feng to look on enviously. He had no idea how she managed it, but the mere act was impressive, not something an ordinary person could accomplish.
Qin Feng didn’t know where Su Yun hid the magazines, but he happily agreed. He understood that a sniper was a core member of any special forces unit, able to control the battlefield and influence the entire outcome. It was an aspiration for many, and Qin Feng himself wished to become a mysterious and formidable special operative. Yet, for various reasons, he’d never made it into a special unit. He knew he needed to work harder, and now, it seemed that opportunity was before him—he could learn sniper marksmanship.
“You have great potential. Don’t waste it. Practice rigorously, unlock your abilities, and become a strong sniper,” Su Yun said, looking at Qin Feng. She saw in him a piece of uncut jade—if polished, he might become something extraordinary.
“Am I really that impressive?” Qin Feng asked, incredulous. He hadn’t expected such potential within himself. Seeing the certainty in Su Yun’s gaze, he resolved to train diligently, to improve his sniper skills and become a formidable warrior.
“Yes. Do you want to learn?” Su Yun asked.
“Of course I do! Please teach me,” Qin Feng nodded rapidly, eager for instruction.
“Good. Since you want to learn, I’ll teach you now. Do you see the Type 95 sniper rifle in my hand? Let me introduce you to this weapon,” Su Yun said, pointing with her left hand to the rifle in her right.
Qin Feng knew there were many types of sniper rifles, and now that Su Yun was introducing the Type 95, he listened intently.
“Alright, I’m listening,” Qin Feng replied, his expression turning serious.
Observing his focus, Su Yun felt he was both diligent and charming. Suddenly, she recalled that kiss beneath the river, her cheeks flushing slightly. But reminding herself she was teaching him sniper skills, she regained her composure and began her detailed introduction of the Type 95 sniper rifle.
“The full name is the QBZ-95 automatic rifle, commonly referred to as the Type 95 sniper rifle. It’s one of the most effective sniper rifles in the world.
The Type 95 has a caliber of 5.8mm and is a bullpup design, offering great stability and high precision. The rifle is short and well-balanced, easy to carry, and suitable for all-weather combat. Its 5.8mm rounds can penetrate an 8mm steel plate at 100 meters and still retain some lethality—its stopping power is formidable.
The automatic rifle employs a bullpup structure, shortening the overall length. The magazines are interchangeable and have a large capacity, allowing for sustained firepower. The 5.8mm ammunition has low recoil, the rifle’s dynamics are stable, and its layout is well-designed. It’s comfortable to hold and aim, with minimal vibration. Both single and burst fire are highly accurate.
Additionally, the Type 95’s mechanism is reliable and adapts to various climates and environments. Its lifespan is long. The family of Type 95 rifles shares similar structures, with most parts interchangeable, including the bolt and magazine. Maintenance and repairs are easy.
It’s equipped with mechanical sights and simple night aiming devices. The mechanical sight is a peep-hole type, with a muzzle device to reduce noise and muzzle flash. It also comes with a 3x optical scope and a low-light scope, allowing precise aiming at living targets within 200 meters under dim conditions, suitable for all-weather operations. The rifle can also mount a quickly detachable 35mm grenade launcher, expanding its area-of-effect capabilities.
It features a multifunctional bayonet and sheath, easy to carry, capable of stabbing, chopping, cutting, sawing, and shaving, and can be used as a dagger, expanding its tactical functions. Besides rifles and machine guns, the new family includes short rifles and folding-stock variants, realizing a multi-weapon system to meet the needs of different troops.
The Type 95 sniper rifle is among the world’s most advanced, with powerful combat capability, able to quickly eliminate enemies from a distance.
That’s the Type 95 sniper rifle—its performance in all aspects is outstanding.”
Su Yun explained everything in detail to Qin Feng, handing him the Type 95 sniper rifle as she spoke. She quickly disassembled and reassembled the weapon, demonstrating the skills of a true special forces soldier.
“It looks extremely useful,” Qin Feng said, feeling the rifle was indeed powerful and suitable for intense combat.
“It is. Now you try disassembling and assembling it,” Su Yun handed the rifle to Qin Feng.
“Alright,” Qin Feng responded, taking the rifle and swiftly disassembling and reassembling it. On his first attempt, he managed to put it back together quickly, with remarkable speed.
“Have you learned how to disassemble and assemble rifles before?” Su Yun asked in surprise, noticing his familiarity with the weapon.
“I have. Old Qin taught me,” Qin Feng replied.
“Who is Old Qin?” Su Yun asked, puzzled.
“He’s the elderly man in my family. He taught me survival skills for the jungle, martial arts, and marksmanship,” Qin Feng explained honestly. His marksmanship, too, was thanks to Old Qin’s instruction.
“So Old Qin must be quite remarkable,” Su Yun said. Now she understood why Qin Feng’s marksmanship was so impressive—it was Old Qin who had trained him.
