Chapter Ninety-Seven: Dealing with a Fierce Pack of Wild Dogs!
“Come on, you wild dogs. Let’s see who kills who.”
Qin Feng looked calmly at the pack. He knew a clash with them was unavoidable. Since it had come to this, then let it come. He would see who died first. He understood that only by fighting with all his might might there be a chance to survive. If he did not fight, then he would merely wait to be torn apart and devoured by the pack. So he would fight fiercely and take on the wild dogs head-on.
Little by little, the pack drew near. Soon Qin Feng was facing them directly, and the battle was on the verge of erupting.
At that moment, Qin Feng’s eyes were filled with the spirit of combat. His will to fight burned fiercely. He knew there would be no avoiding this struggle with the dogs. Since it was unavoidable, then he would fight with all his strength. As for who would live and who would die, that remained to be seen.
No matter what, he had to survive. There were still many things he had to do. He still had to go back and see Su Yun. He certainly did not want to die here.
Watching the pack with cold composure, Qin Feng could feel an intensely savage aura radiating from them. He spoke in a frosty voice. “Wild dogs, you’ve come at the perfect time. If you want a fight, then I’ll fight you. Let’s see who walks away alive in the end.”
He could sense just how fierce the pack’s fighting power was. Wild dogs were formidable creatures. A thick murderous intent rose from them, as though the pack meant to tear him to pieces and swallow him alive.
That was one of the terrors of wild dogs: they could unleash a horrifying display of ferocity, terrifying their prey and then launching a savage attack.
Qin Feng did not panic in the slightest. He understood perfectly that this was the prelude to their assault.
As the pack drew closer and closer, he remained calm, without fear. His entire body bristled with a fierce battle aura. His will to fight was blazing, his momentum towering like a rainbow. He looked almost like a god of war. He knew full well that the more frightened one became, the sooner one died. The pack wanted him afraid, wanted him unable to bring out his full fighting strength, so that it could tear him apart at will.
But if he charged forward against the odds, there might still be a sliver of hope for survival. A soldier with a gun in his hand had nothing to fear. At worst, then he would fight. He believed he could unleash a powerful fighting aura. He would keep fighting fiercely. Though the pack was strong, he would continue fighting until a victor was decided.
Qin Feng knew very well that the pack was about to attack him, so he would meet them in battle and make them understand that he was not easy prey, that he was far from weak, and that he would show them the strength of his combat power.
“Pack of wild dogs, let’s see who survives in the end. Only the strong live through this.”
Looking at the pack, Qin Feng knew a battle between them was inevitable. Whatever happened, he would fight with unyielding ferocity. He believed he could survive, and he believed he could defeat the wild dogs.
At the same time, the pack seemed to have sensed Qin Feng’s provocation. They let out a series of low, guttural whines that echoed through the forest. In the darkness of the night woods, it sounded so dreadful, so chilling, as if an icy aura hung over everything, ready to destroy all things.
Then came a chorus of howls.
These were not the sounds of domestic dogs. They were wild dogs, howling like wolves, and in some ways even more unnerving than wolf cries. Their howls carried a murderous ferocity, a brutal fighting spirit, as if they would annihilate any creature that dared trespass on their territory. Their combat power was truly fearsome.
As the howls rose one after another, more and more wild dogs rushed over. They gathered in growing numbers, their eyes gleaming an eerie green, cold as ice. Their fangs were bared, saliva dripping to the ground, making the scene all the more terrifying. Their gazes were venomous, like serpents poised to strike. Their menace was unmistakable.
Qin Feng felt a dreadful aura crash toward him, making him seem as though he might be swallowed by the pack at any moment.
He surveyed his surroundings with great caution, ready to respond to any attack that might come.
Encountering wild dogs in the forest was no small matter. It had to be resolved quickly. Only then would survival be more likely. In the wilderness, survival came first; only after that could anything else be considered.
And in the wilderness, one had to obey its law: the strong prey on the weak, and only the strongest endure.
Qin Feng knew that whatever happened, he had to survive. There was still much he needed to do. He still had to see Su Yun.
“I wonder whether I can really take on this pack,” he thought. “No matter what, I have to keep fighting with everything I have. I have to survive.”
He understood clearly that he had to fight these wild dogs with all his strength. Only then could he better deal with them. Only then might he have a chance of defeating them and staying alive.
He could feel how dangerous this place was. If he failed to wipe out the pack, then he might face even more wild dogs. By then, things would become even more perilous.
What was more, pursuers were still outside the mist-shrouded forest. If he could not deal with the wild dogs, then once the pursuers came in, he would still be in danger. So no matter what, he had to fight with absolute ferocity. Only then would he keep the wild dogs from getting their way.
Then, suddenly, a howl burst from within the pack. In an instant, one of the wild dogs shot forward. Its gaze was vicious, a trace of killing intent flashing in its eyes as it charged straight at Qin Feng. Its speed was astonishing, like a bolt of lightning. Though it was running, it seemed more like a flicker, leaving afterimages through the forest.
The wild dog moved so fast that in the blink of an eye it had covered more than ten meters. Its limbs were powerfully built. In an instant it reached Qin Feng’s front, kicked off the ground with its hind legs, and launched itself into the air, lunging straight for him.
It opened its bloodthirsty maw, revealing sharp fangs that made the scalp tingle. Its speed was incredible. It wanted to clamp down on Qin Feng’s throat at once, to crush his neck in a single bite. From the moment it leapt and opened its jaws to the instant it reached him, scarcely a second or two had passed. It was astonishingly fast.
In that instant, Qin Feng was hit by a wave of putrid stench. He felt a succession of vicious auras bearing down on him. He could even see rows of teeth, and the sharp fangs gleaming within that gaping maw. Its target was his throat. Clearly, it had already taken Qin Feng for prey. It intended to crush his throat and then feast on his flesh.
This wild dog’s attack was vicious beyond measure—swift, precise, and deadly, displaying its ferocity in every way. It made plain the extraordinary presence of a truly savage beast.
