Chapter Sixty-Two: You’d Better Take Good Care of Him for Me!
About thirty minutes later, the transport helicopter landed at the training base of the Fierce Tiger Special Forces Brigade. Qin Feng and the others disembarked and headed straight to the brigade commander’s office.
“Reporting!” The six of them stood outside the door and called out loudly.
“Come in.” The voice of the brigade commander rang out. Qin Feng and his comrades pushed open the door and entered, with Mo Zhuofan, who was last, closing it behind them.
The six saluted the commander.
The commander returned the salute, his face alight with satisfaction as he looked at them. “You all did well. The mission was completed excellently. The leaders from the Armed Police just called, asking me to convey their respect to you. You’ve done yourselves proud. Several commanders from the military district have also heard about what happened. They said they look forward to our achievements in the future—we’re all outstanding.”
“Rest assured, Commander. We won’t disappoint the leaders. We’ll keep working hard, fulfill tasks, improve, and grow, protecting our country,” Qin Feng replied loudly. He knew this mission had brought valuable experience, and he was grateful.
“Good, very good,” the commander said, then looked at them. “Qin Feng, you all performed admirably. After deliberation, the brigade has decided to promote you as elite special forces soldiers. This mission was an assessment, and you’ve passed. How does it feel?”
“Thank you, Commander!” The group voiced their thanks eagerly. They had long aspired to become elite special forces soldiers. Previously, they were rookies, but this mission had allowed them to skip the intermediate ranks and become elite directly. It was a great opportunity for growth.
“All right, that’s all. Su Yun, stay. The rest of you, return to regular training. If there’s a task, you’ll be notified. Train harder—don’t let yourselves fall short at the critical moment. Understood?” The commander’s gaze was expectant; he knew Qin Feng and the others were improving and sensed that they would become the pride of the Fierce Tiger Special Forces. Train hard and sweat on the field, and you’ll bleed less on the battlefield.
“Yes, sir!” Qin Feng and his companions replied, understanding well. After saluting, they filed out, with Qin Feng closing the door behind him.
“Su Yun, you led them to accomplish their mission admirably,” the commander said, knowing Su Yun was his sister.
“It’s nothing. I’ve completed missions dozens of times more difficult than this,” Su Yun replied, her tone calm.
“You’re from the mysterious unit, after all,” the commander said, aware of his sister's formidable abilities. “What are your plans now?”
“I need to return to the mysterious unit. I’ve been away long enough, and there are new tasks waiting for me,” Su Yun answered. She knew she’d spent about a month with the Fierce Tiger Brigade and it was time to return.
“I see. When will you go?” The commander felt a pang of disappointment. He rarely saw his sister, and now she was leaving again. Still, he quickly adjusted, reminding himself that she belonged to the mysterious unit and had spent a month with him, which was more than he could ask for. He’d enjoyed her cooking and she’d helped train a top sniper—something to be glad about.
“When will you leave?” he asked.
“Tonight. Do you have time? Make me some braised pork,” Su Yun replied, looking at her brother. She liked his braised pork and wanted one last meal before leaving.
“I suppose I can manage. You know I have to run the Fierce Tiger Brigade,” he said, “but if you want braised pork, I’ll make it for you at lunchtime. Be sure to come.”
“Deal. It’s settled,” Su Yun agreed, confident her brother would keep his word.
“Qin Feng is a good marksman, his sniper skills are improving steadily. You should invest in his training,” Su Yun said. She believed Qin Feng’s potential was immense—he might even surpass her one day, and she never doubted that.
“I know. When the military district competition comes, we’ll count on him. If he places, the armory will be open for him to practice as much as he wants,” the commander said with a pleased expression. He recognized Qin Feng’s sniper abilities, and trusted his sister’s judgment—any sniper she trained wouldn't be weak.
“If I train a good soldier for you, how will you thank me?” the commander asked Su Yun. As the brigade commander, he had a keen eye. He noticed his sister seemed to have taken a particular interest in Qin Feng, which surprised him. She was known as the ‘Ice Beauty’, and few caught her attention; who would have thought Qin Feng would?
“He’s your soldier. What do you think? Do I really need to thank you?” Su Yun retorted, refusing to take the bait.
“Fine, then I’ll give him the toughest training and raise his abilities. Let’s see if he can win a place in the competition,” the commander laughed, knowing he wouldn’t get anything from his sister. In truth, he didn’t want anything—she was his beloved sister, so he set his sights on training Qin Feng instead.
“Take good care of him for me,” Su Yun said, her cheeks tinged with pink.
“Huh? Take care of him? How exactly?” the commander asked, feigning surprise but secretly delighted. Clearly, his sister was interested in Qin Feng, and Qin Feng seemed to reciprocate. It was a match made in heaven. He was happy for her—his Ice Beauty sister was finally opening her heart. With a wry smile, he said, “Don’t worry, little sister. With me around, no one can touch him. I’ll keep him safe.”
He patted his chest.
“Good, then I’m relieved,” Su Yun smiled. “You’re the best, brother.”
“Of course. I’m your brother, after all,” he replied.
“Aren’t you going to say goodbye to him?” he asked.
“No need. He’ll know,” Su Yun said.
At noon, Su Yun enjoyed a delicious meal of braised pork.
By afternoon, the commander saw her off. A transport helicopter soared into the sky. While training, Qin Feng sensed something and looked up at the sky, silently wishing her well before returning to his drills.
