“Thwack!”

A shot rang out, and the sniper’s bullet struck Viper in the head.

Viper collapsed instantly. His eyes were wide with rage and disbelief. He could not understand how Qin Feng had seen him so clearly, or how he had fired with such terrifying speed and precision. But he would never have the chance to find out. The aura of life gradually faded from his body. He was dead.

“Viper!”

Viper’s men hurriedly shouted his name, but he was already gone. No matter how loudly they called, he gave no response.

With their leader dead, the more than three hundred men immediately fell into chaos. They found the situation utterly terrifying. Moments ago, they had numbered more than two thousand, but now only a little over three hundred remained. Qin Feng and his companions were simply too frightening, their strength far too formidable.

They felt that Qin Feng and the others were invincible. If they continued fighting, they might all lose their lives. Everything about the situation was far beyond their expectations.

“Could I have taken out the leader of that group?” Qin Feng asked himself, somewhat surprised. He had a feeling that he really had killed their commander.

“It seems he truly was their leader.”

Qin Feng’s eyesight was far sharper than an ordinary man’s. Seeing the remaining three hundred men plunge into disorder, he realized that only the death of their leader could have left them so completely without direction.

He had merely taken the shot as an incidental act, never expecting it to produce such an effect. It was well beyond what he had anticipated.

Still, a kill was a kill—and this one had been accidental.

Qin Feng decided that they could continue fleeing. There was no need to remain and fight those three hundred men. They had to withdraw as quickly as possible.

“Everyone, retreat at once,” Qin Feng told Warhawk, Flying Shadow, Black Wolf, and Snow Leopard.

This was an excellent opportunity to escape. Viper’s men were already in disarray and could no longer organize any meaningful attack. However, the Blood Skull Mercenary Corps was still present, and they were an extremely dangerous enemy. They had to remain cautious if they wanted to retreat safely.

No one knew whether the Blood Skull mercenaries might rally those men and send them in pursuit. They had to run as fast as they could to leave this place alive.

The battlefield was ever-changing. There was no absolutely safe place. Only the utmost caution could keep danger at bay.

At that moment, Qin Feng and the others could escape the danger zone and return safely only by moving as quickly as possible.

As they ran, Qin Feng suddenly sensed an intensely dangerous presence. A stabbing pain shot through the space between his brows, as though someone had a rifle trained directly on him.

Having lived in the wilderness from a young age, he possessed an instinctive ability to sense danger. In an instant, he felt an overwhelming crisis that threatened his life.

“Danger,” he warned himself.

Without the slightest hesitation, he hurled himself sideways.

Whoosh!

A sniper’s bullet flashed past his body. The searing round grazed his clothing, scorching the fabric and filling the air with a foul smell.

Qin Feng immediately broke into a cold sweat. His back was drenched, and a chill ran through his entire body. He could not help trembling. Only those who had experienced battle could understand how terrifying that moment was.

He felt as though he had just walked through the gates of death. If he had been even a fraction slower, the bullet might have struck him—and he might already have been dead.

He was still shaken. What had just happened was truly terrifying. He had not expected the enemy to have a sniper, much less one capable of such powerful attacks. Clearly, the opposing marksman was an expert—an exceptionally dangerous one. If they were careless, any of them could be killed.

“Damn it—the enemy has a sniper! Everyone, take cover!” Qin Feng warned Warhawk and the others.

After hearing him, Warhawk and the rest also sensed the danger. Without hesitation, they scattered and hid. But one person was a little too slow.

That person was Black Wolf.

Whoosh!

A sniper’s bullet struck him in the back. It slammed into his bulletproof vest and drew a line of blood.

“Cough!”

Black Wolf suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood and collapsed onto the ground, his body bent forward in agony. He had been hit by the sniper’s bullet, and the pain was so intense that he could barely cry out.

“Black Wolf! Black Wolf, how are you?”

Qin Feng saw clearly that Black Wolf had been hit. He immediately crawled toward him, pulled him away from the front of the tree, and dragged him behind a mound of earth.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

At that moment, two more sniper rounds tore through the air, making the situation incomparably perilous.

It was terrifying. If Qin Feng had not dragged Black Wolf away quickly enough, those two bullets would have struck him as well. Black Wolf might have died on the spot.

“Bastard!”

Qin Feng cursed angrily. He had to admit that the enemy was a master sniper—indeed, a supreme one. The man had identified their position in almost no time and immediately begun firing on them.

He would examine Black Wolf’s condition first, then deal with that extraordinary sniper.

“Black Wolf!”

Qin Feng shouted loudly, but Black Wolf showed no response. Qin Feng examined him and discovered that his heart had stopped. He hurriedly pressed down on Black Wolf’s chest and began emergency resuscitation.

“Cough, cough!”

Before long, Black Wolf coughed several times, spat out a few mouthfuls of blood, and slowly regained consciousness.

“Black Wolf, how do you feel?”

Seeing him wake, Qin Feng felt somewhat relieved. Even so, Black Wolf’s condition was far from reassuring. They still did not know whether the bullet had struck a vital organ.

“I… I’m not going to die.”

Black Wolf spat out another mouthful of blood as he spoke. His body was extremely weak, and he looked as though his life might slip away at any moment.

Qin Feng carefully examined the wound. The bullet had struck the right shoulder area of Black Wolf’s back. If not for the bulletproof vest, he would almost certainly have been killed. However, the round had pierced through the vest and lodged in his flesh. Surgery would be required to remove it.

But the enemy was right before them. They obviously could not operate here, nor could they extract the bullet in this place.

The situation was extremely critical. Their enemies were members of the Blood Skull Mercenary Corps, including a supreme sniper who could approach at any moment and unleash another devastating attack. At any time, they could find themselves facing death.

What were they supposed to do?

“Stay calm. Stay calm. The more dangerous the situation, the more important it is to remain calm.”

Qin Feng repeated the words to himself. He drew a deep breath and forced himself to regain his composure.

“Feng, don’t worry about me. Leave me here and fight them. At worst, I’ll take them down with me.”

Black Wolf spoke with fury in his eyes. He felt that those men were utterly despicable, and he wanted to show them exactly what he was capable of.

“Don’t talk. You’ll only waste your strength. I’m thinking of a way to help you.”

Qin Feng spoke as his mind raced. He knew that everyone’s situation was extremely dangerous.

“Feng, what do we do now?”

At that moment, Warhawk and the others crawled over to them and looked toward Qin Feng. They knew how perilous their situation was and understood that they would survive only if they found a solution quickly.
