Su Orange was so caught up in racing that she lost herself.
From her house all the way to Radiant Sun Entertainment, it was a considerable distance—of course, she'd have to speed!
A small comfort was that she hadn’t been exaggerating; ten years of driving experience meant her wild ride was still within the bounds of safety. Miraculously, she delivered Li Wanbai to the entrance of Radiant Star Entertainment without a scratch.
When she climbed out, Li Wanbai’s legs were trembling uncontrollably, her face filled with disbelief. “I survived? I actually lived through that speed?”
Su Orange scoffed, “What’s with that look? Didn’t I tell you I’d get you to work safely? I keep my word. Now get to work. No matter what, you can’t escape it!”
Especially in the capital, after all.
No matter how fast you go, there’s only so much you can do.
Fortunately, entertainment companies start late; if it had been morning rush hour, the entire road would be jammed solid, and speeding would be impossible.
Thinking this, Su Orange laughed, “You call that racing? In the city, that’s at best just speeding. Wait till I take you for a real drive outside the city.”
“You know how to race?” Li Wanbai shook her head, trying to clear away the strange images in her mind. The world really had become fantastical in ways she hadn’t noticed.
In her memory, Su Orange was the kind of girl who wouldn’t even dare ride a motorcycle. And now she was racing cars?
Time truly is a butcher’s knife; everyone is reshaped under its blade.
Li Wanbai felt a surge of emotion.
Su Orange glanced at her, utterly bewildered. Was this girl practicing face-changing? Who knew what she was thinking now.
Li Wanbai had a dedicated parking spot in the company’s underground garage.
Even though she herself didn’t know it.
Su Orange was even more familiar with Radiant Sun Entertainment than she was, smoothly navigating in and pulling up to a particular space, her expression growing dark.
Li Wanbai poked her head out to see—and realized her exclusive spot was already occupied. And as luck would have it, it was the very same Maybach Wang Xing had driven yesterday when he’d picked her up.
Li Wanbai still remembered the license plate.

“What’s going on?” Li Wanbai asked, puzzled.
“You’re asking me? Who am I supposed to ask? But it’s pretty clear—someone’s taken your spot,” Su Orange snorted, folding her arms, her mood sour. “Didn’t you tell me you fired that driver already?”
“Yes, Sister Chen promised me he was gone—but what’s that got to do with him?” Li Wanbai was confused.
That Maybach was just one of several cars assigned to her by the company; it wasn’t as if Wang Xing owned it. Seeing it here wasn’t strange.
But she quickly realized: the cars were only nominally assigned to her. The company still held actual control, and only the company-assigned drivers were allowed to use them.
No driver had come to pick her up today, which meant there’d been no handover between drivers—and Wang Xing was the only one who could drive this car right now.
So Su Orange’s suspicion was reasonable.
But the problem was, she’d received Sister Chen’s assurance that Wang Xing had been fired just yesterday.
“What on earth is happening?” Li Wanbai muttered to herself.
“My car’s just over there, Miss Ye, this way please!” Wang Xing’s cheerful voice rang out from the elevator.
Both Li Wanbai and Su Orange looked up in unison, just in time to see Wang Xing hurrying over with Ye Xiruo. His face was all smiles, his eyes burning with eager admiration for Ye Xiruo.
Ye Xiruo wore a white, floral dress, her smooth black hair cascading to her waist. Compared to Wang Xing’s enthusiasm, her expression was much colder, even faintly impatient.
But Wang Xing was too caught up to notice, and kept chattering, “Miss Ye, you really are a superstar. You look even better in person than on screen! I just can’t understand why you aren’t more famous yet. Compared to you, what is Li Wanbai, really?”
Caught up in the gossip about herself, Li Wanbai felt utterly baffled. What did this have to do with her?
Hearing this, much of the impatience in Ye Xiruo’s eyes faded. She smiled sweetly, “Is that so? You think so too?”
“Of course! It’s not just me, the whole company thinks so! That Li Wanbai isn’t as pretty as you, nor is she as decent! Spoiled and willful, she acts like a princess and expects the whole world to revolve around her,” Wang Xing sneered.
Ye Xiruo’s lips curled into a smile, clearly pleased.
Emboldened, Wang Xing went on, “I heard you’re going to be on ‘Us’? That’s wonderful! The company has finally recognized your talent and is going to promote you! I’m sure you’ll surpass that bitch Li Wanbai within half a year!”
“Ye Xiruo is going on ‘Us’?” Su Orange’s eyelid twitched, grinding her teeth. “So Radiant Sun Entertainment gave such a good opportunity to Ye Xiruo! Great, that wretch stole your chance and now she’s badmouthing you behind your back! Just watch how I deal with those two animals!”

“Hey, wait… It’s not necessary!” Li Wanbai reached out to stop her, but missed.
Su Orange swung open the door and strode over, full of rage.
Li Wanbai was left sitting in the passenger seat, utterly at a loss. What kind of mess was this?
There were plenty of people talking behind others’ backs in this world!
Especially now—there were at least a thousand, if not ten thousand, people online hurling abuse at Li Wanbai. With Su Orange’s temper, she couldn’t possibly go after them all.
Li Wanbai pressed her hand to her forehead and sighed.
Still, for someone to do it right in front of them—it was hard to blame Su Orange for being angry.
Snapping back to her senses, Li Wanbai hurriedly got out and chased after her.
Su Orange had already confronted Wang Xing and Ye Xiruo, sneering, “Well, well, look who it is—the stinking driver and a third-rate extra who’ll never measure up to our Little Bai.”
Wang Xing’s face twisted with anger and then confusion. Clearly, he had no idea who Su Orange was and dropped his head, choosing not to respond.
Ye Xiruo glanced at Wang Xing, then smiled at Su Orange, “So it’s you. What brings you to Radiant Sun Entertainment?”
She paused mid-sentence, catching sight of Li Wanbai hurrying over. Her smile froze. “Little Bai, did you come with Miss Su?”
Li Wanbai gave her a look but said nothing.
Ye Xiruo was no fool. One glance and she saw Su Orange’s car parked next to the Maybach. Understanding dawned and she quickly said, “Little Bai, don’t misunderstand. I didn’t mean to have your driver take me home; it’s just that all four of my drivers asked for leave and I couldn’t find anyone else. So if you’re angry, hit me, yell at me, let it out—just don’t bottle it up. It’s not healthy.”
Her words sounded apologetic, but the implication was nothing but provocation.
“Li Wanbai! Even if you’re more popular than Miss Ye, you can’t bully people like this. I was just giving Miss Ye a ride home—what right do you have to be upset?” Wang Xing snapped, his eyes blazing with anger. “Some star you are! Jealous of your own colleague’s success, aren’t you?”
