Lu Yuanqiu picked up the popcorn bucket and glanced at it. He said to her, “Isn’t this just a paper bucket?”

“But it’s quite sturdy, and the inside has plenty of space. Plus, it smells nice. It can be used to store things,” she replied, handing the bucket to Lu Yuanqiu and bringing it close to his nose so he could smell it.

Lu Yuanqiu sniffed it, then took her small hand again, kneading it gently. He teased, “You have to learn to let go. So what if it smells nice? You smell nice too. Can I take you home?”

Hearing his mischievous words, the girl’s earlobes reddened as she lowered her head in submission. “Alright then...” she conceded.

Suddenly, Lu Yuanqiu sat up straight. “What? I can take you home?”

Bai Qingxia was stunned, shaking her head rapidly like a rattle. “No, no, I meant... alright, I won’t take it. That’s what I meant...”

After she spoke, she sneakily glanced at him before quietly shrinking back into her seat.

“Tch.” Lu Yuanqiu raised his hand in exasperation, his happiness quickly deflated.

At that moment, Wang Ping led a cinema staff member inside.

The staff member glanced at the frozen image on the screen, then back at the projector behind them, apologizing profusely, “Um... could you wait a moment? Our repairman for the projector didn’t come today. I’ll call him right now, or we can reschedule for another showtime, but that means your seats would have to change.”

Wang Ping actually wanted to ask for a refund since he was one of the few who had paid. Just then, Liu Wei’s voice came from behind: “Let’s wait, it’s Saturday anyway, nothing else planned.”

The staff member quickly nodded. “Alright, I’ll ask the repairman to hurry.”

After he left, Wang Ping couldn’t help but sit down and grumble, “This broken-down cinema.”

Hearing this, Su Miaomiao looked somewhat embarrassed, since she was the one who had called Wang Ping over.

Near the second-to-last row.

“Let’s just wait a bit. After the movie, we can grab lunch,” Brother Xu said to his gentle-looking blind date.

Suddenly recalling something from earlier, he quickly pulled out his phone, smiling, “Oh, I want to show you a really romantic clip I recorded in class.”

“Sure,” the blind date leaned her head closer.

Brother Xu scrolled through video files, unsure which was which. He found the date and opened a video, only to see his own face filling the screen at the start—shirtless, chin raised, showing off his sharp jawline.

The blind date was taken aback.

“Ah, not that one...”

Embarrassed, Brother Xu tried to toss the phone away, forcing a laugh as he held it at arm’s length and continued searching.

Please don’t tell me I accidentally deleted it...

Up front, Liu Wei and Su Miaomiao were chatting animatedly.

Zheng Yifeng sat upright in his seat, glancing casually to the side with a hint of distraction.

“I’m telling you, I really can’t stand Li Junhua. He’s such a pervert, always touching my legs and chest when I’m not looking. So creepy,” Su Miaomiao whispered to Liu Wei. Zheng Yifeng caught every word precisely.

The young man’s eyes widened suddenly, his right arm trembling slightly.

Who is Li Junhua?!

Before Su Miaomiao and Liu Wei could continue, Zheng Yifeng, growing anxious, spoke for the first time that day to the woman beside him, “Miss, that’s already sexual harassment. You could report it to the police.”

Hearing the boy’s words, Su Miaomiao turned her head, first surprised, then quickly clarified, “Ah? No, no... she’s my roommate.”

Zheng Yifeng’s face stiffened. “A woman?”

“Yes.”

The boy’s expression froze, his embarrassment wanting to swallow him whole; he wished he could disappear into the seat cracks and spend the next month in darkness. Hastily, he turned his head away.

Finally having said something, thinking he’d been helpful, he ended up looking like a fool.

“Zheng Yifeng, were you listening to us just now? What did you hear?”

“Nothing,” Zheng Yifeng gripped his seat tightly and denied it.

Su Miaomiao felt a bit guilty; she and Liu Wei had just whispered plenty of mortifying things.

Just then, she felt a poke on her arm and heard a sweet voice call, “Zheng Yifeng~”

He turned around, grateful that the dim lighting concealed his reddening face; otherwise, Su Miaomiao would surely notice.

“Here, have some popcorn—we can’t finish it,” Liu Wei said.

“Yeah, the little boy has a big appetite and helped us finish it,” she added.

Zheng Yifeng silently took the popcorn. Nearby, Gao Qiang reached out to grab some, but Zheng Yifeng slapped his hand away.

Gao Qiang looked puzzled. “Don’t you hate popcorn? You ate the whole bucket just now.”

Zheng Yifeng replied, “I didn’t want it before, but now I do.”

“You’re such a weirdo.”

Wang Ping craned his neck to look toward Su Miaomiao. He really wanted to sit next to her and chat, but two seats separated them, and even if he went around, Liu Wei was still in the way.

This movie was really boring.

Wang Ping turned his head and saw Zhong Jincheng shoveling popcorn into his mouth. He glared, “Hey, hey! You little rascal! You ate it all?! Save some for me!”

Zhong Jincheng put down the bucket, looking at Wang Ping with a hint of resentment but said nothing.

Wang Ping shrank his neck slightly. “Why are you looking at me like that?”

Chu Lan was sitting there alone, very bored.

After a few bites of popcorn, she looked back, then took the bucket and moved to the back row.

As she arrived at the last row, Chu Lan froze, her eyes shimmering as they fixed on the hands of Lu Yuanqiu and Bai Qingxia intertwined.

The atmosphere tensed. Lu Yuanqiu quickly let go, and Bai Qingxia swiftly pulled her hand back, clutching it between her thighs, lowering her head, her heart pounding anxiously.

Chu Lan awkwardly stretched the sound of her voice. “Uh—I’d better go back.”

Lu Yuanqiu said, “No, no, no! Come, sit with us.”

A minute later, sitting beside Bai Qingxia, Chu Lan mockingly placed her hand on Bai Qingxia’s thigh, her gaze fixed on Lu Yuanqiu.

“Junior, you’re afraid of the dark? You look so strong and sturdy, I wouldn’t have guessed.”

“Pretty normal. No one’s life is as shiny on the surface as it seems.”

Hearing Lu Yuanqiu’s words, Chu Lan nodded in agreement.

She looked at Bai Qingxia, who was silent and somewhat reserved between her and Lu Yuanqiu, and then seemed to have an idea. “Junior, since we’re bored, why don’t we play a game?”

“You two go ahead...” Bai Qingxia leaned back, pointing at Lu Yuanqiu, thinking Chu Lan hadn’t come over to talk to her.

“No way, you’re playing with me.”
