Chapter Ninety-Five: Gaia Island, Bellamy [First Update]
"I want everyone to know that I have a beautiful wife!"
Out on the vast ocean, sea beasts are undoubtedly the fastest means of travel. A day later, an island appeared before the two of them.
"This must be Jaya," Hina said, standing side by side with Shu Mingyuan on the back of the sea cat, looking at the island as night began to fall. Shu Mingyuan felt a moment of distraction. Was this the remnant of the Sky Island? Four hundred years ago, a massive Knock-Up Stream had split Jaya in two, sending part of it into the sky and leaving the rest behind, eventually giving rise to the legend of the Sky Island.
"Do you know about the Sky Island?" Shu Mingyuan asked suddenly.
"Oh? You’re from the East Blue, yet you’ve heard of the Sky Island legend?" Hina asked, surprised. She continued, "For some reason, every Log Pose that reaches this sea area points upward, as if there were an island in the sky with a stronger magnetic pull than Jaya itself. That is one of the origins of the Sky Island legend."
"Do you believe in the Sky Island?" the man beside her asked with a smile.
After a long pause, Hina bit her crimson lip and nodded. "I suppose I believe in it. Rumors don't just appear out of thin air. There are records of Sky Island in the Marine archives, though I’ve never been there myself. The Pirate King... he probably went there."
"That island truly exists," Shu Mingyuan said with unwavering certainty. "If you have the chance, you should go up and see it for yourself."
"How do you know? Don't tell me you've been there?"
Shu Mingyuan smiled faintly and said no more.
...
Upon reaching the shore, they both disembarked. He sent the sea cat home; there was no shortage of Sea Kings in these waters, and with his abilities, finding a new mount would be effortless.
"There. You traded information for your life. It’s a fair deal. If you block my path again, I will kill you," Shu Mingyuan said, turning to leave. Hina watched his back, her expression complex.
Sky Island, Shu Mingyuan sighed, looking at the sky. Ten thousand meters above, on the White Sea, there truly existed an island made of earth. It was home to people with small wings and the city of Shandora, known as the City of Gold, which had been consigned to history during that massive Knock-Up Stream four hundred years ago.
He, too, had the intention of visiting the Sky Island, but he didn't know when the next Knock-Up Stream would occur. If he remembered correctly, they happened about five times a month, and only the massive ones could propel someone ten thousand meters into the sky.
As for the safety of the Sea King, he wasn't worried. Even if the Marines captured it, as long as he didn't show himself, there was nothing they could do to it.
In the town on Jaya:
"Boss, I’ll take a high-class room."
Shu Mingyuan stepped into an inn. The lobby was noisy, filled with pirates drinking and carousing.
"Kid, you look new. First time on this island, eh? *Hic*," a drunken sot stumbled over to Shu Mingyuan and muttered.
The youth ignored him, taking the room key from the innkeeper and heading toward the stairs.
"Kid, I’m talking to you! Are you deaf?" The pirate blocked his path and smashed his bottle onto the floor. The noisy lobby fell silent instantly. Everyone stared at him with malicious intent, as if waiting for something entertaining to happen.
"Move," the youth said coldly, not even lifting his eyelids.
"Want to pass?" The drunkard grinned, spreading his legs and pointing at the ground. "You can pass if you kneel down, knock your head three times, give me all your money, and crawl through my legs. Then I might spare you."
"Hahaha! Bassas, you’re truly vicious!"
The lobby erupted in laughter, but they all watched with keen interest. They had clearly played this game many times before.
"Move, trash! Otherwise... I won't mind crippling you!" The youth’s voice remained detached, devoid of any emotion.
"Hahaha!"
"Did you hear that? This little brat actually said he wants to cripple Bassas!"
"Poor kid, he probably doesn't know that Bassas has a 20-million-berry bounty."
Called trash, Bassas was incensed. He gave a ferocious grin. "You little brat, you refuse a toast only to drink a forfeit. Go to hell!"
He reached out with a large hand to grab Shu Mingyuan, but the youth was faster. With a lightning-fast motion, he grabbed the pirate's wrist and twisted it hard. The sound of shattering bone echoed through the air; in the blink of an eye, the hand was destroyed.
"Are you joking? He crippled Bassas with a single move?"
Bassas let out a shrill scream. The situation turned instantly, and the pirates who had been watching for fun were stunned. They hadn't even seen the youth make his move.
This kid was dangerous. Everyone realized they had run into a tough opponent.
"Hey, hey, kid. Bassas is my man. Let him go, or you'll die a miserable death."
A man wearing a captain's coat stood up from the crowd, looking arrogant.
"It's Bellamy! That kid is dead. No one who offends him ever survives!"
Shu Mingyuan gave a disdainful smile. "Let him go?"
His palm crackled with electricity. Then, to the disbelief of everyone present, he thrust his hand into the pirate's chest, pulled out his heart, and crushed it.
"Do you want his corpse?"
He tossed the body toward Bellamy with one hand. His own hands were stained with blood, and combined with his smile, he looked more like a demon than any of the murderous pirates in the room.
Everyone shivered, falling deathly silent. Anyone who could kill a 20-million-berry pirate in a split second was not someone to be trifled with.
"Aren't you being a bit too arrogant?" Bellamy frowned. The youth's fearless demeanor annoyed him.
"I am arrogant. What are you going to do about it?"
Shu Mingyuan laughed with contempt. A group of people whose total bounties didn't even reach a hundred million were only fit to lord over this place.
"Watch your mouth! This island is the home turf of Hyena Bellamy!"
Bellamy threatened him, but he wasn't truly afraid. In the first half of the Grand Line, his 55-million-berry bounty was quite high; he could also kill a 20-million-berry pirate instantly.
"You threaten me? What are you? In my eyes, you're not even worth as much as trash." The youth ignored him, his tone dripping with mockery.
"Fine, fine, fine!"
Bellamy laughed out of pure rage. "It's been a long time since I've met a brat who doesn't know his place. Do you think a little bounty makes you untouchable? Go to hell!"
His legs transformed into springs. With a powerful compression and sudden release, he left only a blur in the air!
One punch was all he needed to crush this arrogant brat!
"Hyena Bellamy, if you want to kill me, tell your master Doflamingo to come himself."
Exposing Bellamy's affiliation shocked him, but in that instant, the youth's fist turned pitch black and struck out with devastating force.
The next moment, brains splattered everywhere.
