Chapter Sixty-One: Spiritual Summoning—Triple Rashomon! [Third Update]
“Kid, if you take one more step forward, do you believe I won’t cut you down with a single stroke?”
“This must be your true self, right? I must admit, your abilities are incredibly varied—it really is troublesome to deal with. But in the end, you’re simply too weak.”
Rain Hiryu sneered, his gaze fixed intently on Shu Mingyuan, making sure the latter couldn’t use his duplication skills to distract him again.
“Oh? Are you so certain?” Shu Mingyuan turned, looking at Rain Hiryu with a calm expression.
“No one is faster than my sword,” Rain Hiryu replied.
“Well, today you’ll have your eyes opened. I’m leaving; there’s no one in this world who can stop me.”
As Shu Mingyuan spoke, a surge of formidable chakra rippled over his entire body.
“Super Expansion Jutsu: Supreme Push!”
“Armament Haki: Hardening!”
In an instant, his right arm swelled rapidly, the palm coated in a hardened aura, its surface further shrouded in a faint blue chakra. He struck fiercely at the Gate of Hell with an earth-shattering palm!
“Kid, don’t you dare!”
Seeing Shu Mingyuan’s movement, Rain Hiryu instantly understood his intent—he was going to gamble everything on this move. Without a moment’s hesitation, Rain Hiryu unleashed a sword slash, aiming to end the boy’s life with a single strike.
A powerful gust, sharp as a blade, tore through the air. Shu Mingyuan’s massive arm, now over thirty meters long, came crashing down mercilessly on the Gate of Hell.
Boom!
Stone and wood fragments erupted as the mighty gate, the very symbol of the Hell’s Entrance, was shattered with a single blow!
At that very moment, the deadly sword light from Rain Hiryu closed in. Shu Mingyuan narrowed his eyes, bit his finger, pressed his left hand to the ground, and a mysterious spell mark spread out like a web.
“Summoning Jutsu: Triple Rashomon!”
In the face of crisis, three colossal gates surged from the earth! Each stone gate was carved with fierce, fanged demons, their mouths wide open, ready to absorb any attack.
The first Rashomon gate was designed to absorb the brunt of attacks, the second to weaken any strike’s force, and the third to diffuse the remaining power outward.
With these three unique gates, all of Rain Hiryu’s attacks would be endlessly diminished or even completely blocked.
This was Shu Mingyuan’s trump card. Without it, how could he dare withstand a swordmaster’s strike with his own flesh and blood? Even now, with his entire body hardened by Armament Haki, he would have been cleaved in two.
He had exchanged fifty thousand Justice Points for the Triple Rashomon after encountering Rain Hiryu. With its near-miraculous defense, he could now withstand even unavoidable slashes with ease.
Rain Hiryu’s hundred-foot sword beam arrived in a flash and struck the first Rashomon gate, sending a powerful shockwave roaring through the hall, swirling with endless sword energy. Shu Mingyuan’s shadow clones vanished under its force.
The first gate was split in two by the strike, followed immediately by the second. The second gate’s power weakened the black sword beam dramatically, reducing its length from a hundred feet to barely twenty.
The second gate was also cleaved apart by a single blow!
The third Rashomon gate was shrouded in an eerie, dark light. As the sword beam struck, a formless wave spread out, endlessly dispersing the attack’s remaining power.
Crack!
A fissure appeared from top to bottom on the third gate, but by then the sword beam’s force had dissipated entirely. The Rashomon was not completely broken.
Still, Shu Mingyuan silently raised his estimation of Rain Hiryu’s strength as a swordmaster. With a casual swing, he had nearly broken through the Triple Rashomon. Had he used his demonic blade technique, things might not have gone so smoothly.
Rain Hiryu stared intently. These three mysterious gates had blocked his attack. This brat had endless tricks up his sleeve—his abilities were bizarre and unpredictable.
The gates had shielded Shu Mingyuan, and it was clear to Rain Hiryu that the boy hadn’t suffered even a scratch.
But now, with the Gate of Hell smashed open, there was truly no one left who could stop him.
The Rashomon gates slowly faded away, revealing the black-haired youth behind them. He stood outside the great gate, gazing at the endless blue sea beyond. The sea breeze brushed past him, and he let out a sigh of sheer relief.
The atmosphere in Impel Down was unbearably oppressive. After three months of constant fighting, stepping out into the world again felt almost dreamlike—it was as if he was finally standing among the living once more.
The guards and wardens of Impel Down were instantly thrown into an uproar at the sight of the youth. To face the Chief Warden’s strike head-on at such a young age, and emerge unscathed, was simply unimaginable.
To them, the prison had two ultimate aces: Chief Warden Rain Hiryu and Director Magellan. One possessed the strongest offensive power, the other the most formidable ability in the entire facility.
Both wielded power on par with admirals. In terms of offensive might, Rain Hiryu was said to surpass even Magellan!
Rain Hiryu stepped outside toward Shu Mingyuan, sneering, “Kid, all the warships outside have long since sailed away. Even if you break out to this point, what then? You have nowhere left to go! You’re a Devil Fruit user—do you plan to jump into the sea? Down below is a nest of monstrous Sea Kings!”
Shu Mingyuan turned to Rain Hiryu, the hint of scorn on his lips. “How narrow your world is. Do any of you truly understand what I’m capable of?”
Rain Hiryu’s face flushed with anger and then paled. Suddenly, he remembered the boy’s ability to give form to drawings. Was it possible for him to ride a drawn bird and escape?
“Rain Hiryu, let me tell you honestly. I came to Impel Down of my own free will. Now that I’ve gotten what I wanted, of course I’m leaving. Did you really think a weakling like Smoker could have captured me?”
“All the world’s wicked pirates deserve no place to exist. Impel Down is a fine place—I quite like it! Ha!”
With a loud laugh, Shu Mingyuan let himself fall backward right before everyone’s eyes.
All the onlookers could see clearly—this would send him plunging directly into the sea! No matter how great his powers, once he touched seawater, he would lose all strength and become nothing more than food for the Sea Kings.
As he plummeted, Shu Mingyuan sensed a familiar presence below. A smile of satisfaction appeared on his lips as he placed two fingers to his mouth and let out a whistle, his youthful voice carrying far and wide.
“Hey, big guy! Your master is out—aren’t you coming to pick me up?”
