Chapter 141: The Island of Daughters—The Kingdom of Women
Margaret with slightly curled blonde hair carried a blood-stained figure on her back as she returned to the village on Amazon Lily.
The women of the island immediately gathered around.
"Oh my god, Margaret, why is the person on your back bleeding so much?"
"He's severely injured... Did you encounter a ferocious beast in the forest?"
"Could this be the warrior Aferandela? But his build doesn't quite look like hers..."
Margaret's face darkened at these absurd remarks. Twitching the corners of her mouth, she headed toward the infirmary. Based on her observation, this person was in critical condition and likely the owner of that mysterious ship. Lord Snake Princess might need him, yet he was currently extremely weak and in urgent need of medical attention.
"Doctor Granny Nyon, can he be saved? This person might be very important to Lord Snake Princess."
"Lord Snake Princess?" A kind-faced old woman wearing a white medical coat removed her hand from Shu Mingyuan's pulse. She cast a puzzled glance at Margaret, then said calmly, "Whether he can be saved, I cannot say for sure. His physical condition is exceptionally poor. However, if it is a request from Lord Snake Princess, I will do everything in my power to treat him. But first, you need to wash him and disinfect his wounds."
"Huh?"
"Huh, what? How am I supposed to treat him looking like this?"
"Ahem... Yes." Margaret offered an embarrassed smile.
"Do the cleaning outside. Don't make my treatment room look like a murder scene. Bring him to me only after he is cleaned up."
Granny Nyon's cold voice came from the inner room. Margaret nodded gently, then turned her gaze to the blood-soaked figure lying on the ground. "A bath, huh..."
Margaret carried Shu Mingyuan back outside the infirmary, where a crowd of women immediately swarmed around chattering away.
"How is it, Margaret? What did Granny Nyon say? Is he lifeless and beyond saving?"
Carefully laying Shu Mingyuan flat on the ground, Margaret spread her hands and smiled slyly, "Sisters, boil some water and give him a bath. This fellow is likely a distinguished guest of Lord Snake Princess."
Anything concerning the Empress of Amazon Lily was treated as a matter of supreme importance in this country. Thus, under the attentive care of the crowd of women, Shu Mingyuan was stripped naked without the ability to offer any resistance...
"His injuries are so severe. To have suffered such heavy wounds, bled this much, and still be alive is nothing short of a miracle."
"He looks so unfamiliar. Is he from our country? Why have I never seen him before?"
"Eh? Why do his chest muscles look different from ours? They feel so hard."
"Ah... Look at his lower parts, they're different too. He has a little bird down there!"
"Where, where? Let me see. Wow, there really is one! Is this little bird sleeping right now? Will it fly away when he wakes up? It looks so soft and interesting..."
The windows of the infirmary were wide open. Granny Nyon appeared by the sill, looking down at the flock of chattering women and listening to their conversation. The corners of her mouth twitched violently.
*These idiot women... He's a man, of course he's different from you lot...*
Naturally, she kept these words to herself. In truth, the moment she diagnosed Shu Mingyuan, she had already recognized his gender, but she had remained silent because Margaret mentioned he might be connected to Lord Snake Princess.
It took a total of three large tubs of hot water to wash away the dried blood from Shu Mingyuan's body. When he was finally presented bare before the women, their faces flushed red for no apparent reason.
Shu Mingyuan possessed a wheat-toned complexion. Though his skin was pale, the distinct aura of male hormones radiating from his body caused every woman nearby to momentarily hold her breath.
Even though they had never laid eyes on a man from birth, sometimes the body proved to be the most honest teacher.
Shu Mingyuan's body was covered in scars. Grisly wounds gaped open with raw flesh exposed, but even more terrifying were his internal injuries. Despite five days of tireless healing spells, his body remained like an intricate piece of porcelain covered in cracks, on the verge of shattering at any moment.
"Eh, what's wrong with me? Is it just too hot today?"
"I feel a bit hot too. What a strange feeling..."
Granny Nyon walked over with a dark expression. "Carry him inside, and all of you get out. Except you, Margaret. Stay."
Inside the infirmary, Granny Nyon had long since prepared a wooden tub filled with churning, blood-red boiling water. According to her, this medicinal concoction contained a massive quantity of precious herbs capable of nourishing the life force—such as Dragon Blood Grass and Heaven Essence Wood—each single ingredient worth tens or hundreds of millions of Berries.
"Put him in," Granny Nyon instructed.
Gulp...
"Will soaking in this medicinal liquid cure him?" Margaret swallowed hard, as the concoction looked truly unappealing. It was entirely blood-red, churning like molten magma with what appeared to be flickering flames, while emitting a pungent, nauseating odor.
"There is not a second tub of such precious medicinal liquid left in the entire world. His injuries are far too severe; ordinary treatment methods have zero effect on him. Therefore, I am forced to use this primitive method to give him a complete blood transfusion and revive his cellular activity, accelerating cell division. Only then can his current condition stabilize."
"But... won't this boil him to death?" Margaret asked timidly.
Granny Nyon rolled her eyes, then glared fiercely. "If he gets boiled to death, it's his own fault! Stop babbling. Do you want to save him or not?"
Margaret hardened her resolve. Since Shu Mingyuan was doomed without treatment anyway, she might as well treat a dead horse as if it were still alive. She gently lowered Shu Mingyuan into the wooden tub, bowed respectfully to Granny Nyon, and asked, "Um, how long will the soaking process take?"
"Until tomorrow."
"Then I'll leave him in your care, Doctor. I'll come check on him tomorrow."
"Margaret, the medical fee for this treatment is one hundred million Berries. Please be prepared to pay." Granny Nyon said flatly.
As she was about to step out of the infirmary, Margaret caught her foot on the threshold and nearly tripped backward. She had momentarily forgotten that while Granny Nyon possessed exceptional medical skills, she was also an incorrigible miser who cared only for money when practicing medicine.
One hundred million Berries—where on earth was she supposed to find that sum?
"Ahem... Granny Nyon, isn't a fee of one hundred million Berries a bit too much?" Margaret asked, biting the bullet.
"Are you telling me you don't have the money?" Granny Nyon glared at her.
"No, no, no... I have it, I definitely have it."
Moments later, Margaret whispered to Granny Nyon about the golden ship, intentionally or unintentionally portraying Shu Mingyuan as its wealthy owner.
Instantly, Granny Nyon's face lit up with a brilliant smile.
