The story concluded, and a heavy sadness filled the room. Qin Xue and Wang Ying quietly wept, their eyes full of sympathy as they looked at Yang Qing.
Wang Ming remained silent, drinking water repeatedly, feeling a tightness in his chest.
After a moment, he took another gulp, breaking the somber atmosphere, and said, "Brother Yang, rest assured, leave this song to my sister. She definitely won’t let you down!"
“Mm,” Yang Qing nodded. Then, wiping his eyes, he forced a small smile and looked at the two women. “Alright, here—wipe your tears. Life unfolds differently for everyone. We must live brilliantly and make those who raised us proud.”
With that, he pulled out two tissues and handed them over.
“Mm… mm!” The two women accepted them and wiped their tears. Qin Xue then gently took Yang Qing’s hand without a word.
Wang Ying looked at him thoughtfully for a moment, then regained her composure. “This song’s debut will be at my concert. I’m confident it will captivate all the listeners. I’ll also introduce its lyricist and composer. Do you have any objections?”
“No,” Yang Qing shook his head.
“Good,” Wang Ying continued, “The songs you and the little one recorded are fully produced. I’ve already arranged with the music platform, Qianqian Melody. It will be launched there at noon tomorrow, free for trial listening at first. Once the traffic builds up, it will switch to paid mode. Do you have any suggestions?”
“Um, none,” Yang Qing shook his head again. “I don’t really understand this. Just handle it, I’ll learn slowly.”
“Alright then,” Wang Ying nodded. She then glanced at Wang Ming and said, “What are you standing there for? The songs are done. Aren’t you going to pay?”
Wang Ming was speechless.
Women’s moods are as changeable as March weather.
...
Inside the small shop, on the second floor, four little children and a tiny toddler, tired from playing, climbed onto the sofa and sat side by side, turning on the TV to find cartoons.
“Xi’er, turn down the volume a bit, the sisters are studying!” Xiao Qiu’er said to little Xi’er, who was wildly pressing the remote.
“Okay, okay! Shhh!” Little Xi’er made a cute shushing gesture, then obediently lowered the volume.
“Um~ Sister~ Eat~ Eat~~” Little Dong’er, being held between Xiao Qiu’er and Xiao Niannian, was munching on a bag of little bear biscuits.
Her small hand plunged into the bag, pulling out a few bear-shaped cookies, then stretched out her hand to offer some to Xiao Niannian.
“Thank you, Dong’er,” Xiao Niannian happily accepted, ate one herself, then stuffed the rest into little Xi’er’s smiling mouth.
Little Xi’er: (°Θ°)
Seeing her older sister eat the biscuits, little Dong’er happily babbled again, grabbed another handful, and offered it to her sister, Xiao Qiu’er.
Xiao Qiu’er smiled warmly and patted her little face. “Dong’er, you eat, sister won’t.”
...
“Um~ Bai~ Sister~~” Though little Dong’er was so small, she was generous and never forgot her sisters when it came to treats.
She stretched out her hand, babbling toward little Bai.
“Hehe…” Little Bai smiled and took the biscuits, shoving a handful into her own mouth, puffing out her cheeks as she chewed.
After finishing, she swallowed and took a few gulps from her sippy cup, then looked at the joyful little ones, her small voice complaining, “Kindergarten is so annoying. I can’t play with you all, and I have to do homework!”
“Whoosh!” As soon as she said that, little Xi’er swiftly jumped in front of her.
“Xiao Bai, Xiao Bai, you have homework! Hurry up and do it! Want Xi’er to help you?” Little Xi’er chirped excitedly.
Little Bai was surprised, dumbfounded, “You can?!”
“Hehe... Xi’er can! Xi’er’s awesome!” Little Xi’er laughed proudly.
Xiao Qiu’er, curious, asked, “Xiao Bai, what kind of homework is it? Is it like what big sister and second sister have, writing lots of words in a notebook?”
“No,” little Bai shook her head, worried. “The teacher said we have to do crafts, but I don’t even know what that means!”
Crafts?
Instantly, Xiao Qiu’er and little Xi’er looked puzzled. What exactly were crafts?
Xiao Niannian giggled, teasing little Dong’er. Since arriving here, she had no worries—just needed to be happy.
“Xiao Bai, let’s ask big sister and second sister,” suggested Xiao Qiu’er. “They’ll know for sure!”
“Yeah, good idea!”
The three little ones rushed into the bedroom of Chun and Xia, and shortly after, came running out energetically.
Xiao Niannian curiously asked, “Xiao Bai, Qiu’er, did you find out?”
“We did!” Xiao Bai nodded excitedly. “Sister Xia said crafts mean making a toy!”
“Making a toy?!” Xiao Niannian’s little face was adorably stunned.
Xiao Qiu’er giggled, “Hehe... big sister said we can make a little car or a house!”
“Hehe... Xiao Bai, let’s make a little car! Then it can take us out to play!” Little Xi’er laughed excitedly.
“Yeah, let’s make a little car!” Xiao Bai was thrilled. “A car that can take you all shopping!”
“Hehe... let’s make a car!”
“Hehe... Niannian, come on, let’s make the car!”
“Okay, I’m coming! Dong’er, sister will hold you.”
The four little ones decided to make a car, and the first step was to find a cardboard box, as Sister Xia had told them.
...
So, the four began searching for a small box, and while looking, they found themselves in the room of Tan Jin’er and Bai Lingyue.
“Xiao Bai! Look, a small box!”
Little Xi’er’s sharp eyes spotted a white box on the edge of the desk as soon as they entered. She cried excitedly.
“Hehe…” Xiao Bai laughed, climbed onto a small stool, and grabbed the box, but exerted too much force and dropped it on the floor.
“Oh... what’s this?”
The contents spilled out. Xiao Qiu’er picked something up curiously.
“Let me see!”
Xiao Bai jumped down, picked up a piece and examined it, with little Xi’er and Xiao Niannian watching too.
Little Dong’er squatted on the floor, picking up piece by piece, tucking them into her arms.
“Hehe… I know!” Suddenly, little Xi’er looked at the pictures and remembered what it was, laughing.
“Xi’er, what is it?” the three asked curiously.
“It’s a face mask!” Little Xi’er grinned and said in her baby voice, “My sister and Sister Lingyue put these on their faces every night before bed!”
“Really?” Little Bai doubted this silly child.
“Really!” Little Xi’er nodded vigorously. “I asked my sister to tell us stories, and I’ve seen it many times!”
Hearing this, Xiao Bai and Xiao Qiu’er immediately believed her, and grew curious about these face masks.
A few minutes later...
“Hehe... Xiao Bai, Xi’er’s eyes can’t see anymore!”
“Dummy, don’t move! I’ll put it on again, leave your eyes uncovered, hehe…”
“Qiu’er, put one on Dong’er too. It’s cool and so comfortable!”
“Hehe... okay. Niannian, yours is falling off. Let me fix it and put one on Dong’er.”
“Um~ Sister~~” Little Dong’er squatted on the floor, babbling. Then her small hand grabbed a bag and tugged.
*Tear...*
