Chapter Sixty-Eight: Lick My Shoes
“You filthy bitch! You dare hit me in class? Are you tired of living?” Qiu Chongwei ground his dust-stained shoe down with vicious force, his features twisted into a grotesque mask of malice.
Beneath his foot, he pinned three of Chi Naiyun’s fingers. The instant his shoe came down, a bruise blossomed across her skin. Yet Chi Naiyun merely stifled a groan, curling up like a prawn, silently enduring the beating.
Clutching her aching fingers, she chanted to herself in her mind. Just get through today, just bear it, don’t fight back—if you do, the beating will only get worse…
But they had no intention of letting her go. With contempt, Qiu Chongwei stamped a dirty mark onto her uniform, then spat on her.
“Useless trash. Born of a worthless mother, you’re garbage yourself. You were born to be a filthy piece of scum!”
The words struck a raw nerve. Chi Naiyun’s lashes trembled, but she dared not resist. She merely closed her eyes, enduring the torrent of degrading curses.
Seeing her as lifeless as a block of wood, Qiu Chongwei soon grew bored. Suddenly, as if struck by inspiration, he seized a handful of her hair and sneered, “Hey, you fat pig—let’s play a little game, shall we?”
Chi Naiyun’s eyes were filled with dread. “W-what kind of game?”
He arrogantly thrust his shoe beneath her eyes. “See my shoe? Lick it clean, and I’ll let you go.”
To force someone to lick a shoe? This was no longer mere bullying—it was outright humiliation!
Trembling, Chi Naiyun tried to shrink away.
This only infuriated Qiu Chongwei. Impatiently, he spat, “Listen, you fat cow, you better think carefully. My father is your mother’s boss. If you dare cross me, I’ll have her fired the moment I get home!”
Her pupils contracted with terror; this time, Chi Naiyun truly panicked. She could endure anything—except dragging her family down with her…
Emotions pressed in from all sides. Just as she was about to break, a sharp sound pierced the silence of the alley.
“Whoosh—”
With a violent rush of air, a stone struck Qiu Chongwei square on the back of his head.
He staggered, caught off guard in the midst of his swaggering display, a jolt of pain shooting through him.
Instinctively, he reached back to touch his head—his hand came away slick with blood. Qiu Chongwei exploded with rage.
“Damn it! Which blind bastard dared hit me in the head? Can you afford the medical bills?”
He spun around in fury, only to see a youth strolling toward them, haloed by sunlight, her steps unhurried and elegant.
With a crimson smile playing at her lips, Chao Xu’s brows arched, an ambiguous amusement in her eyes. Casually tossing a stone between her fingers, she spoke lightly, “Is paying for your medical bills enough? In that case, I suppose I can play with you a bit more.”
She deliberately emphasized the last four words, each syllable slipping from her shapely, scarlet lips, sending a shiver down Qiu Chongwei’s spine.
Fear welled in his eyes, and he nearly cursed aloud. He’d bullied many by relying on his power—but this person before him, her influence far outstripped his. She could crush him beneath her heel.
He dared not challenge her, nor could he.
Wringing his hands, sweat beading on his brow, Qiu Chongwei forced a fawning smile. “Chao Xu, what brings you here?”
