Chapter Nineteen: Entering Greenhill Town and Beginning the Monster Hunt for Leveling Up
“Hey brother, want to team up?”
Just then, a man walked over and asked. Yang Feng glanced at him but said nothing. Seeing that Yang Feng ignored him, the man looked up curiously at the Crow Warrior in the sky. Then he sent out a Probe Water Sphere toward the Crow Warrior.
Caw!
Sensing someone attempting to probe it, the Crow Warrior shrieked and swooped down at the man. The man was startled and jumped back in fright. Fortunately, at the crucial moment, Yang Feng called off the Crow Warrior. The Probe Water Sphere was blocked by the Crow Warrior, so no information was revealed. More importantly, Yang Feng had learned the Concealment skill from Gu Panpan. With this technique, unless someone’s level was far beyond his, they could not detect his information.
“Brother, are you a necromancer?”
“Brother, interested in teaming up? Our squad’s missing a mage!”
“Brother, we’re three and need one more—how about we team up and charge into the core area?”
…
Seeing how ferocious the Crow Warrior was, quite a few people invited Yang Feng to join their teams. But he declined every one of them. He first checked the information about Greenhill Village and then selected the core area.
[Do you wish to teleport to the core area?]
[Yes!]
Yang Feng stepped into the teleportation array. In a flash of white light, he vanished.
“He actually entered Greenhill Town?”
“My god! He went into Greenhill Town alone!”
“Is he planning to hunt monsters by himself? How reckless!”
“It’s not impossible—people have done it before!”
“Who is this guy, anyway?”
“Look at his summoned pet—a crow! I’ve never seen that before!”
“I tried probing him just now, but didn’t get any information. He probably knows Concealment!”
“So that’s it. Well, let’s just wait here and see if he can make it out alive!”
“Maybe he’s just a rookie. Going into Greenhill Town alone is suicide!”
…
Outside Greenhill Town, many people were gloating, eager to see Yang Feng’s fate. After all, there were always arrogant types who tried to enter Greenhill Town solo.
Most ended up dying inside.
Though Greenhill Town was once a settlement, ever since it was overrun by monsters, it had lain abandoned for years. With so many adventurers coming in to hunt monsters, the entire place was shrouded in a heavy stench of blood.
After a dozen seconds, the teleportation was complete. Yang Feng found himself in a building. The walls were lined with special arrays to keep monsters out and protect the teleportation circle. In one corner sat an old man, cross-legged, his eyes closed, unconcerned by Yang Feng’s arrival. Yang Feng knew this elder was the protector of the teleportation array and must be extremely powerful. He quietly sent a Probe Water Sphere toward the old man—nothing came of it. Clearly, the old man’s level far surpassed his, making detection impossible.
The building’s entrance was a specially reinforced iron door. Stepping through it meant truly entering Greenhill Town. Outside, all manner of monsters roamed. One of them spotted Yang Feng and began to snarl. Should Yang Feng step out, the monster would surely attack.
Yang Feng sent a Probe Water Sphere at it, and soon its information appeared before him:
[Monster Name: Common Wind Wolf]
[Level: 13]
[Attack Power: 600]
[Defense: 800]
[Speed: 1000]
[Spirit: 300]
[Skill: Frenzied Strike]
This Wind Wolf was indeed a Greenhill Town monster—much stronger than those outside. Its combat strength and defense were both formidable. Even a warrior of the same level would likely be no match for this level-13 Wind Wolf. Without a team, survival in the core area would be nearly impossible.
But compared to Yang Feng’s Crow Warriors, the Wind Wolf still fell short. Wasting no time, Yang Feng summoned the Crow Warriors from his pet pouch. Instantly, the room was filled with them. Opening the iron door, Yang Feng officially began his journey in Greenhill Town.
Awooo!
The moment Yang Feng stepped out, the Wind Wolf howled with excitement and charged at him. Before Yang Feng could say a word, the Crow Warriors attacked.
Though the Wind Wolf was much larger than the Crow Warriors, one fought from the sky and the other on land. In the air-land battle, air supremacy was absolute—just as in modern warfare, control of the skies meant victory.
Within moments, the Crow Warriors struck. Their sharp claws left deep, gruesome gashes on the Wind Wolf’s body. The wolf was no match for the Crow Warriors—and now dozens encircled it at once. In just a few seconds, the Wind Wolf let out a miserable wail and fell into a pool of blood.
[Congratulations, Host! You have slain a Common Wind Wolf. EXP +2000]
Hearing the system prompt, Yang Feng’s face lit up with excitement. The experience gained was several times higher than what he’d get outside. Killing a single monster here was worth many outside, and with the Crow Warriors, it took him mere seconds per kill.
His leveling speed would skyrocket. Yang Feng felt he had made the right choice coming here. Without hesitation, he issued another attack command.
Caw!
Caw!
Caw!
…
One after another, the Crow Warriors shrieked and charged into Greenhill Town like an unstoppable army, cutting a bloody path through the monsters.
[Slain Common Wind Wolf, EXP +2000]
[Congratulations, Host! Acquired item: Wolf Tooth Club!]
[Slain Common Wind Wolf, EXP +2000]

The alerts echoed in Yang Feng’s mind. His experience soared, and the loot piled up. Soon, Yang Feng, through his Crow Warriors, had obtained a map of Greenhill Town.
Once a thriving settlement, Greenhill Town now appeared desolate after years of neglect. It was crisscrossed by many roads, any of which would eventually lead to the final destination.
