The detection spell failed, and generally, there are two reasons for this.
The first reason is that the opponent’s level is higher than yours, making it impossible to probe their information.
The second reason is that the opponent has used a special method to conceal their information, causing the detection spell to fail.

“Hahaha... Aren’t you curious why your detection spell didn’t work?”
Seeing Yang Feng’s bewildered expression, the girl couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
“I’ll tell you, I’ve learned a skill called Breath Concealment!”
“As long as I use Breath Concealment, unless someone’s level is more than ten above mine, your detection spell will fail.”
“I’ll put away Breath Concealment now. Try your detection spell on me again!”
With those words, the girl deactivated her Breath Concealment.
Yang Feng then cast the detection spell on her once more.
This time, the spell worked effortlessly.

[Name: Gu Panpan]
[Class: Shadow Assassin]
[Level: 15]

Suddenly, Gu Panpan’s face showed a hint of vigilance as she glanced to the side.
Yang Feng turned his head as well.
Not far away, two figures emerged—the same warrior and mage who had previously pursued Gu Panpan.
Besides them, a third person had joined: a swordsman carrying a long sword on his back.
The three surrounded Gu Panpan.
Seeing this, Gu Panpan furrowed her brows.

“What is it that you really want?”
“I only took a skill book from you, so why do you refuse to let me go?”

Turning to Yang Feng, Gu Panpan said, “I’ll leave now. If fate allows, we’ll meet again!”

Whoosh!
At that moment, a glowing orb flew straight at her.
Gu Panpan reacted swiftly, dodging to the side.
Boom!
A loud explosion echoed as the orb struck the ground, bursting forth in a dazzling flash.
Simultaneously, two beams of light appeared on Gu Panpan and Yang Feng, making them both shine brightly, like the brightest sparks in the darkness.

“This is... Marking Spell!”
Upon seeing this, Gu Panpan’s expression changed dramatically.
“Marking Spell?”
Yang Feng recalled a lesson from class:
Marking Spell is a special skill used by mages.

Mages can mark targets with this spell.
Once marked, the target cannot escape.
Gu Panpan’s class, Shadow Assassin, allowed her to use shadow skills to flee.
But once marked, no matter where she went, she would emit a glowing light.
So now, escape was impossible for Gu Panpan.

“Let’s see how you run now.”
The mage sneered at Gu Panpan.
Meanwhile, the warrior and swordsman readied their weapons for battle.
The mage, holding a staff, glared coldly at Yang Feng and Gu Panpan.

“I knew it—you two are accomplices!”
“One’s a Shadow Assassin, the other a Cursed Mage!”
“You make quite the pair!”

Gu Panpan wasted no words; she drew a short sword from her waist, its blade gleaming with a chilling light.

“This has nothing to do with him!”
“You want me, let him leave!”

Upon hearing this, the warrior scoffed, “Do you think we’d believe you?”
“If we kill both of you, the intermediate skill book is ours!”

Seeing the situation, Gu Panpan turned to Yang Feng, her face apologetic.
“Sorry, I dragged you into this.”
“I’ll hold them off—find a chance to escape!”

Yang Feng looked at her, puzzled.
“If I run, what about you?”

“Don’t worry. I’m a Shadow Assassin!”
“It’s night; they can’t catch me!”
Gu Panpan replied.

Yang Feng didn’t believe her.
Though Gu Panpan was a Shadow Assassin, she was alone, while the enemy had three.
Most crucially, she was now marked.
Escape using shadow skills was no longer possible.

“Enough nonsense! Get them—kill them!”
The mage shouted, raising his staff.
“Tonight, not only you, but the man beside you will die!”

As his words fell, the staff erupted in blinding white light, illuminating the surroundings as if it were day.
The intense light made Gu Panpan’s face twist in discomfort.
As a Shadow Assassin, nothing was more threatening than white light.

She gritted her teeth, gripping her short sword, ready for battle.
The warrior pulled out a battle axe.
The swordsman drew a heavy sword.
The mage would attack from afar.
The warrior and swordsman would engage up close.
The mage’s spells kept shining continuously.

Meanwhile, the warrior and swordsman blocked all escape routes.
At that moment, Yang Feng summoned a level-three Raven Warrior.

“Don’t resist. You’re doomed tonight!”
“Explosion Spell!”
The mage shouted.
A massive glowing orb shot toward both Yang Feng and Gu Panpan.
Explosion Spell was a skill only mages above level 15 could master, and its attack power was formidable.
If struck, it would detonate instantly, leaving no chance—death or grave injury awaited.

“Run!”
Gu Panpan shouted, then grabbed Yang Feng, trying to flee.

“Trying to escape? Not so easy!”
Just then, the swordsman slashed a beam of sword light, blocking their path.
The warrior, wielding his axe, charged at Yang Feng and Gu Panpan.

“We’re done for!”
Gu Panpan’s face turned pale.
She knew this time she was doomed.
She hastily pushed Yang Feng aside, then gripped her short sword alone, ready to fight to the death.

At that moment, three Raven Warriors shielded Gu Panpan.
The glowing orb struck one of the Raven Warriors.
Boom!
With a thunderous explosion, the orb detonated, scattering the Raven Warrior into pieces.
A sword beam sliced another Raven Warrior in half.
The warrior’s axe struck the third, wounding it grievously.

“What’s going on?”
The mage’s face was filled with disbelief.
He had already probed Yang Feng’s information—just a level twelve Cursed Mage.
Even if Yang Feng could summon pets, they shouldn’t exceed level twelve.
Yet the Raven Warriors he summoned were able to withstand their attacks.

The warrior and swordsman were equally astonished.
Just what kind of creatures were these Raven Warriors?
How could they block their attacks?
