“Ever since the game ‘Myth’ invaded Earth a hundred years ago, the world’s rules have been overturned, and humanity has entered an era where everyone changes professions,” the principal began. “Students, after three years of study, you have all mastered the theoretical knowledge of various professions.”
“Today marks the annual profession-changing ceremony at East Sea First High School.”
“I won't say much more. I hope that when the ceremony begins, you will all receive the profession you desire and contribute to the revival of humanity!”

Principal Qin Han stood on the stage, addressing the entire graduating class of East Sea First High. Known as a level 70 Grand Archmage, Qin Han had long been the most powerful figure at the school, the object of admiration for countless students.

Standing silently among the crowd was Yang Feng. He was, in truth, not of this world—a traveler from another. After three years here, he understood well: a hundred years ago, the game ‘Myth’ had invaded the Earth, transforming the globe into one massive game. Upon reaching the age of eighteen, every person was granted a chance to change their profession. What profession they became depended entirely on luck.

After changing professions, one could leave the so-called ‘beginner’s village’ and begin hunting monsters in the wild or venturing into dungeons to raise their level. The higher one's level, the greater one's power. Over the past century, humanity had fought tirelessly against all manner of magical beasts, carving out safe havens for themselves. Professions were divided into life, support, combat, and other categories, each serving its purpose.

“Now, students, follow me into the magic circle!” At the command, more than a thousand graduating students filed onto the athletic field, where a massive magic array had been set up at its center. Each student would enter the array in turn to receive their profession—a matter of chance. The lucky might become warriors, mages, or assassins; the less fortunate, cooks, blacksmiths, or farmers. On rare occasions, some would be granted hidden professions—Dark Mage, Light Mage, and the like—though such luck was rare, perhaps one in a thousand.

“Next, I will call your names. When you hear your name, step into the array and receive your profession!”
“First up: Cai Xukun!”

A young man with dyed blond hair, wearing a tank top and heavy makeup, stepped forward—Cai Xukun, a transfer student who had been at East Sea First High for two and a half years. His most notable trait was his effeminacy. Nervously, he walked into the array. Thunder rumbled as the array activated.

A beam of light shot out, and the profession was assigned.
[Life Profession: Brothel Keeper!]
What the—? Brothel Keeper?

Eyes wide with disbelief, Cai Xukun stared at the result.

Laughter erupted among the students. “Hahaha, Cai Xukun really became a brothel keeper!”
“Remember to introduce me to a pretty girl next time I visit the Red Lotus House!”
“I always thought Cai Xukun was suited for that kind of job!”
“Don’t underestimate him—now all the girls in the city will be under his care!”
“Ha ha ha…”

The uproar only grew as the students mocked Cai Xukun’s new profession. Furious, he stomped his foot and stormed out of the array.

“Next, Gao Qiqiang!”

Gao Qiqiang entered the array. Another beam of light flashed; the assignment appeared.
[Life Profession: Fishmonger!]
“My father’s a fishmonger, and now I am too!” Gao Qiqiang muttered in frustration.

Several more students were assigned life professions—no surprise, as most did. Then:

“Xu Yourong!”

A girl with a pronounced figure stepped out, every movement causing her chest to tremble, making some wonder if her slender waist could withstand such weight. Xu Yourong entered the array. Light flashed.
[Support Profession: Priestess!]
“No way! A priestess? Isn’t that the legendary healer?”
“Xu Yourong deserves her name—she certainly has a lot to offer!”
“Whoever teams up with her will never have to worry about healing!”
The crowd murmured in awe.

Principal Qin Han nodded in satisfaction. After so many life professions, a support profession was a pleasant surprise.

“Next, Ye Mengyan!”

A tall, striking girl with delicate features stepped forward. The crowd erupted.

“It’s Ye Mengyan—the school beauty!”
“That’s right! Not only is she the school beauty, she’s also the top student—first in every exam!”
“What do you think her profession will be?”
“Who knows? But it’s bound to be impressive!”

Qin Han, too, was full of anticipation. If even Ye Mengyan couldn’t get a good profession, then this year’s ceremony would be a failure.

With composure, Ye Mengyan entered the array. As the array activated, a dazzling white light filled the entire field.

“What a powerful light!”
“The aura of light is so strong!”
“This is a profession phenomenon!”

Qin Han was visibly excited. Such phenomena signaled the emergence of a special profession. When the light faded, the result was revealed.
[Combat Special Profession: Light Mage!]
“No way!”
“Ye Mengyan actually got a special combat profession—Light Mage!”
“Light Mages are incredibly rare!”
“If the Church of Light hears about this, they’ll definitely try to recruit her!”
“She really is the top student!”

The crowd buzzed with excitement as Ye Mengyan stepped down, still expressionless.

“Mengyan, you’ve done well, becoming a Light Mage!” Qin Han congratulated her with a broad smile.

“Thank you, Principal Qin,” Ye Mengyan replied respectfully, bowing before returning to her seat.

“And now, the final student—Yang Feng!”
