At his command, everyone sprang into action, swiftly looting supplies from the black ship.

“Move faster, everyone!”

“We need to finish before dark.”

Chen Yi waved his hand.

Lu Kai nodded, heading straight for the stern. As he rummaged through the cargo, he muttered, “These guys are really ruthless, bringing so many weapons and so much food.”

Zhou Jianguo was equally delighted. Pulling several guns from a crate, he called out excitedly, “Leader Chen, these are real treasures!”

Chen Yi walked over and clapped Zhou Jianguo on the shoulder. “Good work. Take everything back with us. The truth lies within the range of these weapons.”

Suddenly, raindrops began to fall, tapping crisply on the deck.

Chen Yaxi glanced up at the sky. “Brother, the weather’s changing—we need to hurry.”

“You’re right,” Chen Yi agreed. “Everyone, move quickly. Don’t let the rain ruin our supplies.”

They rushed to carry the loot indoors, sweating from exertion but wearing satisfied smiles. The supplies would sustain them for some time and give them an edge in the battles to come.

Meanwhile, on another island they had once occupied, a helicopter slowly descended. A tall man in a leather jacket stepped out of the cabin, removed his sunglasses, and surveyed the surroundings.

“Reporting, sir.”

“There are clear signs of human activity on the island, but no one is here now.”

A subordinate ran over and saluted.

The leather-jacketed man snorted coldly. “Keep searching. Leave no corner unchecked.”

His men immediately dispersed, methodically searching every possible hiding place.

Soon, another soldier rushed over to report, “Sir, a small island has been spotted to the southeast, about thirty kilometers from here. It’s likely they moved there.”

The man narrowed his eyes, considering for a moment. “Excellent. We leave at once—don’t give them a chance to catch their breath.”

The helicopter lifted off again, heading southeast.

Amidst the storm, their target grew ever closer.

Meanwhile, on the new island, Chen Yi and his group had already moved all the supplies into their shelter. Chu Yunxi wiped sweat from her brow and looked at Chen Yi. “What do we do next?”

Chen Yi gazed out at the curtain of rain, his mind weighed down with conflicting thoughts. In this post-apocalyptic world, every battle was a gamble with life and death, and they’d just won a crucial victory.

“Let’s all get some rest for now.”

He turned around, picked up the walkie-talkie, and spoke to the group. “With this weather, even if someone wants to attack, they won’t get here quickly.”

Lu Kai plopped down onto the floor with a long sigh. “Finally, a break. What a day—I'm exhausted.”

A teammate walked over with a gentle smile and handed him a bottle of water. “Have some. You need to recharge.”

Lu Kai took the bottle, gulped down several mouthfuls, then wiped his lips. “Thanks. Don’t overdo it yourself.”

Just then, little Yaxi looked at Chen Yi. “Brother, you should rest, too.”

Chen Yi smiled softly and patted her shoulder. “Don’t worry about me. You all worked hard. Get some rest.”

Zhou Jianguo leaned against the wall, turning over one of the newly scavenged guns in his hands, his eyes shining with excitement. Although his specialty was architecture, he had a deep fascination for firearms. Now, he could hardly put them down.

“These weapons are real treasures. With them, we’ll be much more confident.”

Meanwhile, on another island, the man in the trench coat stood beside the helicopter, watching his busy subordinates with a cold gaze. He could feel he was getting ever closer to his target.

“Everyone, advance!”

“Head for the island thirty kilometers away!”

He gave the order with a wave of his hand.

His men moved swiftly. The helicopter’s engines roared back to life. Boats set out, heading toward the new island.

Amid wind and rain, the alarm sounded once more on the new island.

Chen Yi was instantly on alert. He moved to the window, eyes focused on the distant sea.

“Attention, everyone! Something’s happening!” he shouted.

Lu Kai jumped up, gripping his weapon tightly. “What is it? Someone’s coming?”

Chen Yi frowned. “It seems our enemies have no intention of resting.”

“Prepare for battle!”

As helicopters and boats drew closer, the rain began to ease, but the air grew tenser by the second.

Chen Yi led the group in quickly setting up defenses, preparing every available supply and weapon.

“Lu Kai, you’re in charge of the east side!”

“Understood!” Lu Kai moved out.

“Brother Hu, you hold the west!”

“Got it!” Hu Sanhan responded at once.

Chen Yaxi stayed by Chen Yi’s side, helping him coordinate the defense.

Time ticked by. The unfamiliar boats and helicopters drew nearer.

The man in the trench coat stood at the prow, watching the island coldly. He raised his binoculars, surveying the scene.

“Everyone, listen up!”

“As soon as we land, attack with full force. Leave no survivors—except for the little girl with wings!”

He barked the order.

His men chorused their assent, fully prepared for battle.

At that moment, a signal flare streaked through the sky, bursting brilliantly in the night. It was the enemy’s attack signal—the prelude to battle.

Chen Yi took a deep breath and ordered, “Get ready! We can’t let them land!”

Lu Kai gripped his gun, eyes narrowed.

“Let’s go. We'll show them what we’re made of!”

Zhou Jianguo’s face was solemn, his weapon in hand, but his excitement was clear. “Brothers, let’s do this!”

As the enemy closed in, the distance shrank.

Suddenly, a thunderous explosion shattered the silence—a shell detonated on the island, sending fire and smoke billowing.

“Open fire!”

Chen Yi gave the command without hesitation.

Gunfire erupted; bullets wove a deadly web through the air.

The enemy’s boats and helicopters came under fierce attack, yet they pressed on with grim determination.

The man in the trench coat stood at the bow, coldly observing it all. Then he raised a loudspeaker and shouted toward the island, his voice amplified:

“Listen up, people on the island! Hand over Chen Yaxi! Otherwise, we’ll unleash all our firepower!”

Hearing her name, Chen Yaxi gasped and turned to Chen Yi. “Brother, why are they after me?”

Chen Yi lifted her into his arms, looked at her gently, and reassured her, “Don’t be afraid, Yaxi. I won’t let them hurt you.”
