Understanding Chen Yi's intentions, Chen Yaxi gave a mischievous giggle and said, "Alright, I get it now."

Shortly after, Chen Yi led the charge with Chen Yaxi right beside him.

Compared to their previous encounters, Chen Yaxi's attack speed and trajectory were remarkably clever. She utilized leverage against force itself, completely avoiding the exhausting and inefficient efforts of the past, where she had managed to incinerate only a tiny fraction of the zombies.

Seeing this, Chen Yi felt a wave of genuine joy. Excellent—this young girl was now capable of fighting using her own strategic thinking. All the care and effort he had poured into her during this period had not been in vain. Next on the agenda was elevating his own strength.

To Chen Yi and his companions, the zombies were now no different than cutting tofu, posing virtually no threat at all.

Inside the aircraft carrier, members of Organization X, who continued to monitor everything through surveillance, began discussing plans for Chen Yi's execution.

Some were convinced that they should use ordinary zombies for a progressive, step-by-step approach. Others, however, argued that deploying mutated zombies at this stage would only waste the secret weapon they had labored so long to accumulate. After all, Chen Yi despised being manipulated above all else; the slightest misstep and everything would go up in smoke. Yet, doing nothing seemingly offered no advantages either. Voices overlapped and clashed, leaving the group unable to reach a consensus.

High above, the man perched on the throne gazed down with a razor-sharp look in his eyes.

A bunch of fools! Aside from offering useless opinions, they were entirely worthless. He might as well just slaughter them all!

If he could, the man would have wiped out these burdensome members right then and there, but his current power was still insufficient. The energy collected over the recent period was pitifully sparse—not nearly enough for his own upgrades. Consequently, the man held deep grievances against the horde of zombies surrounding him. He hoped he could continue to endure in silence, though forbearance seemed increasingly like a poor strategy.

Chen Yi and his group possessed formidable strength. Sensing this clearly, the leader of Organization X realized he had to take Chen Yi's life at all costs. Only with Chen Yi gone could the mindset of the others be shifted.

He was convinced that without Chen Yi, the rest were mere nonentities who would quickly disintegrate and fall apart.

In reality, however, Chen Yi had long since sensed that someone was preparing to make a move. Therefore, during the battle, he kept his wits about him, eager to pinpoint the source of that clandestine, attacking power.

As long as the network remained active, it was proof that the danger was still present.

The red-headed and blue-headed zombie leaders stared fixedly at the man before them.

They saw the clear intent to kill.

It seemed Chen Yi was right: once they lost their utility, they were mere trash, to be discarded at a moment's notice.

The blue zombie cast a sidelong glance at Peter beside him. "What do you say? Should the two of us take a gamble?"

Peter let out a sneer. "You think doing that will lead to success?"

"What other choice is there? What are you—"

The blue zombie clenched his fists. "Don't forget, what I'm talking about concerns you just as much."

"I know."

Peter replied with yet another dismissive, mocking scoff.

"Death is just death. To be frank, even if we truly reach the brink of mortality, you will go before me, and I will be the one to finish you off."

These words made the relationship between Peter and the blue zombie even more delicate and strained.

The blue zombie narrowed his eyes, the atmosphere turning thick and complicated.

Yet, after a brief moment, he chuckled.

"Why be like this? We could actually be friends."

Internally, however, Peter was sneering mockingly.

Friends? Could zombies ever be friends?

Ever since they lost their humanity, nothing remained except endless scheming and calculation. If not for the current necessity of standing united against a common foe to deal with certain individuals, would he bother entangling himself here any longer?

Choosing not to provoke the blue zombie further, Peter maintained a calm, indifferent smile.

"Since you call us friends, why don't we go face that fellow together? What do you say?"

The smile vanished instantly from the blue zombie's face. He was well aware of how terrifying that fellow Xiao Yang was. To face him together now was undoubtedly courting death.

Yet, as the fellow beside him had pointed out, avoidance could not solve everything. Therefore, despite the lingering struggle in his heart, he resolved to see the matter through.

"Fine. I'll take a force and go ahead first."

Little did the blue zombie know that the moment he stepped outside, Peter immediately gave strict orders to his own subordinates forbidding them from providing any backup...

By this time, Chen Yi and his companions had cleared out most of the external zombies, a trace of fatigue showing in their eyes.

Fortunately, they had reliable comrades by their side; otherwise, they would have exhausted every ounce of their strength. In that case, should any further enemies appear, they would have been utterly defenseless.

"Boss, are you guys alright?"

Kunpeng walked over, panting heavily. "Let me help replenish your energy. Your reserves are getting low."

"You've heavily overdrawn your own energy as well," Chen Yi said, glancing over and shaking his head gently.

"It's fine. No one else is interfering right now."

Catching sight of the blue zombie who had suddenly appeared, Chen Yi knitted his brows. "It seems some people refuse to give us even a moment to rest."

"Let me handle this."

Tengshe instantly slithered forward, emitting a hissing, furious roar. "What blind piece of trash dares come here to cause trouble? Fine, let me send you all straight to hell!"

Never expecting the giant python to appear here, the zombies began to tremble with fear.

The greatest weakness of the blue zombie and his cohorts was their intense dread of such massive creatures, causing none of them to make a rash move.

Knowing he only had one chance—and that failing to destroy them now would mean being counter-killed—Tengshe whipped his massive body forward without hesitation. Rushing into the fray, he coiled around several zombies without a second word and swallowed them whole.

As those unfortunate creatures were thoroughly eradicated, the blue zombie began to regret listening to that bastard Peter and coming here to court death.

"Wait."

Chen Yi called out, stopping Tengshe just as the serpent was about to devour the blue zombie.

"Leave this fellow to me. I imagine he still has plenty of things to confess to me."

The blue zombie offered a cold smile.

"Chen Yi, you're just as annoying as when I last saw you."

Chen Yi stepped forward briskly, his eyes brimming with extreme chilliness.

"If you don't make a full confession, you'll be the next meal inside my companion's belly. What you choose to do is up to you."

The blue zombie remained unimpressed.

He knew that no matter what choice he made, it was a dead end.

If Tengshe didn't eat him, his master would execute him by detonating the bomb inside him.

Rather than being blown to pieces, he might as well drag this giant python down with him! That way, at least he would have someone to die with him!
