Chapter 157: Setting a Trap for Organization X

Mary had now witnessed Chen Yi’s abilities, and deep down, she understood that this man was a male chauvinist.
Then again, how could someone with so many skills possibly depend on others?
Thinking about it now, the twists and turns of life were truly absurd. She had become a plaything in the hands of Organization X, left at their mercy to be manipulated, while Chen Yi had become the strongest among the strong.
“Beautiful lady, I’ll be counting on you from now on!”
“Get lost!”
Mary shot him a disdainful look and shook her head with a scornful laugh.
“I haven’t gotten my revenge on you yet. How dare you come over here?”
“Revenge?”
Hu Sanhan stared at her in bewilderment, clearly unaware of what had happened.
“What revenge? I don’t remember doing anything to make you angry.”
“Hmph!”
Mary lifted her chin and deliberately refused to look at him. Chen Yaxi, however, had already understood. She let out a laugh and then sighed as she approached Hu Sanhan.
“Uncle Sanhan, you’re a good man in every other respect, but there’s one serious problem you seem not to have noticed.”
Hu Sanhan scratched his head, unsure what to say.
“What’s wrong with me? Aren’t I just like all of you?”
“You really aren’t.”
Chen Yaxi leaned over with a solemn expression, but before she could finish, an anesthetic dart flew straight toward her.
Chen Yi reacted with lightning speed, throwing one of his twin blades and slicing the dart in half. However, a small amount of the toxin still entered Chen Yaxi’s body.
Her vision blurred, and she lost consciousness.
Chen Yi rushed forward and caught her in his arms, his gaze turning icy as he stared at the aircraft that had fired the dart.
“How dare you hurt the darling of our group? You must have a death wish!”
With a furious roar, Lu Kai stomped his foot, drew the twin pistols from his waist, and rapidly opened fire at the sky.
Mary gave a cold laugh.
“Idiot. At this distance, do you really think you can hit it?”
Lu Kai ignored her and calmly watched the sky.
In his world, there was no question of whether something could be done—only whether one was willing to work hard enough.
Sure enough.

After thirty attacks, the aircraft in the sky suddenly exploded. A massive burst of fire illuminated half the heavens.
Mary was already standing there in stunned disbelief. Such a supernatural phenomenon had actually occurred!
Holstering his pistols, Lu Kai glanced indifferently at Mary and rolled his arm.
“Don’t compare those of us who have survived countless battles between life and death with the people from Organization X. You’re not worthy!”
His words left Mary’s face livid.
She wanted to argue, but in the eyes of these people, she was probably just an idiot who kept making excuses for the organization.
Supporting her forehead with one hand, Mary spoke after a moment of calm reflection.
“I can forgive your ignorant behavior and overlook the way you’ve treated me, but I insist that you apologize. I had nothing to do with this!”
Chen Yi paid no attention to the brainless woman before him. He merely continued to sweep the enormous disc with his icy gaze.
That disc was probably the weapon Organization X had prepared to deal with them.
“No matter how many capable people Organization X has, whoever hurt Yaxi today will be reduced to ashes by my hand!”
Mo Bai, who was monitoring everything from the shadows aboard the aircraft carrier, realized that Chen Yi had truly lost his temper. At last, he understood that something was terribly wrong.
This matter had genuinely reached the point of no return.
Swallowing hard, Mo Bai immediately contacted his superior, hoping they could change their decision.
Unfortunately, his superior stated that there was absolutely no possibility of altering it. Once certain things began, they could not be stopped.
The situation infuriated Mo Bai completely.
He could not understand it. Everyone had been giving everything they had for the organization, so why continue when they already knew it would end in certain death?
The thought ignited a furious blaze within him.
He decided to fight back—to use the cruelest methods in the world against the organization.
If he could not have what he wanted, then no one else would have it either!
“Chen Yi, something’s wrong.”
At that moment, Mary had put aside her earlier anger. Pointing at the disc before them, she spoke.
“The anesthetic dart came from the aircraft just now, but this disc is different. It can truly manipulate the toxin and use it to extract a blood sample from Chen Yaxi.”
Sure enough, the disc began steadily moving toward Chen Yi and the others.
Clearly, things were unfolding exactly as Mary had said. Whoever controlled the disc was extremely dangerous, and the schemes lurking behind this might extend far beyond this single move.
“Leave Yaxi to me.”
Chu Yunxi was holding the unconscious Chen Yaxi, her gaze firm.
“Go ahead and kill those detestable people. I’ll take care of Yaxi. I guarantee nothing will happen to her.”

Chen Yi nodded and gripped his twin blades.
He knew very well that having one more friend was better than having one more enemy, so he fixed his gaze on Mary.
“Since we’ve already formed an alliance, asking you to help me with one thing shouldn’t be too much, should it?”
“I know what you’re going to say.”
Mary nodded. “I can help.”
Then she once again used a pill to transform into her zombie form.
Seeing that Mary truly intended to help him with all her might, Chen Yi no longer regarded her as an enemy. After all, in their current situation, one more friend was far more valuable than one more enemy.
Meanwhile, Mo Bai felt everything unfolding inside the warship and was consumed by fury.
One of his own people had actually gone to help Chen Yi. What a humiliating irony.
His fists clenched, and his eyes turned frighteningly cold.
“Very well. So you’ve become this heartless, have you? You no longer care about the organization’s orders. Not only are you trying to escape, you’re even helping outsiders. You’re betraying the organization?”
Although he had initially agreed to the terms under which Mary could leave, Mo Bai now went back on his word.
He had decided that as long as he refused to allow it, Mary would not help anyone escape.
In his eyes, Mary was now a deserter who deserved to be punished.
When Mo Bai pressed a button aboard the warship, countless zombies confined inside capsules were released at once.
Mary drew a sharp breath when she saw the scene.
“Mo Bai really is insane!”
Hearing that name, Chen Yi roughly understood the situation.
“What does this man do?”
“He’s a researcher, but everyone calls him a scientific madman.”
Mary answered without the slightest restraint.
“The zombies he released have all been modified by him in various ways. They possess practically limitless energy. I’m afraid that even you may not be able to turn the situation around.”
“Impossible!”
Chen Yi shook his head.
“There are countless things in this world. Nothing is destined to remain this way forever. Just wait and see—the problem will be solved!”
