"This is more than enough!"

George was exceptionally pleasantly surprised. At a time like this, finding such a colossal entity to act as their protective umbrella was simply fantastic. Moreover, seeing how Chen Yi carried himself, it was clear he could control such a monster. Consequently, George was very much in favor of becoming close allies with Chen Yi.

He reached out his hand directly toward Chen Yi. "Chen Yi, we can become the best of friends."

Chen Yi couldn't help but smile upon hearing this. "I'm not sure about being the best of friends, but at the very least, we won't be enemies."

Shortly after, Chen Yi carried him back through the air. Upon seeing his subordinates preparing to move against Chen Yi’s companions, George grew angry.

"Didn't I tell you not to be impulsive? What is this? Trying to lay a hand on my friends?"

"No, Boss. We were just worried."

"Worried about what? Do you think they would harm me? Their strength is many times greater than ours; is that something you people can even fathom? Enough, don't stir up any more trouble. From now on, you are not allowed to be rude to my distinguished guests."

With that, George prepared to invite Chen Yi and his group to a meal, but Chen Yi declined.

"Now is not the time for wining and dining. If you are truly sincere, you should be thinking about how to deal with the enemy."

Hearing this, George slapped his thigh. "Look at me, I almost forgot about that. Fine, then tell me, how do you plan to deal with those zombies?"

"You don't need to worry about the zombies. My people will handle them. You just need to focus on keeping an eye on the members of the X Organization."

Chen Yi turned his gaze toward Hu Sanhan. "Sanhan, you have no problem dealing with the zombies, do you?"

"No problem at all, Boss!"

Pounding his chest, Hu Sanhan spoke with pride. "How could I let the boss worry about something like this? Don't worry, we are ready to engage at any time, just as you requested."

Watching the high spirits of Hu Sanhan and his men, George began to look at Chen Yi with a new level of respect. He was truly impressive; it seemed this partner was far more capable than he had initially thought.

"Since we have decided to fight together, then from now on, don't cause any more ridiculous scenes. Especially, no one is to attack each other, understand?"

Hu Sanhan clapped his hands, intentionally glancing at George. "We all follow the boss. As long as the boss gives the word, we wouldn't dare act out of line. I trust that with you in charge, there shouldn't be any problems on your end either, right?"

"Exactly. Rest assured, we are all just trying to survive; no one would dare step out of line." As he spoke, George looked at his men, who naturally dared not say a word and kept their heads bowed.

Chen Yi then made a decision. "Actually, the quality of your people is decent enough; you don't need to worry too much. I am just concerned about whether the food on this shore is sufficient for so many people."

"Haha!" George patted Chen Yi on the shoulder. "Don't you worry about that. We have plenty of food and supplies; we've stockpiled quite a bit, so rest easy. By the way, do you have any other companions? Have them come over as well; let's have a party today."

Chen Yi frowned and shook his head. "Forget the party. There is danger at every turn."

Hearing this, George was stunned for a moment, then sighed. "Fair enough. You are more thorough than I thought. Fine, just tell me what you want to do, and I'll make the arrangements."

"Allocate some food for us. We will take you out to sea, where it will be easier to look after one another. I have already established sufficient defenses at sea, whereas your land defenses look mediocre at best."

"You're not wrong." George fell into a melancholic state. "Our defenses here are more than just mediocre; they are truly poor. We've just been scraping by with a few guns. It will be different with you here."

"No need to shower me with praise," Chen Yi said, his expression turning serious. "At critical moments, we must rely on everyone’s collective strength." He pointed toward the sky. "The sky looks so gloomy; I suspect the next wave of danger is coming. Everyone needs to be prepared."

George thought for a moment and felt it would be inappropriate to push. "Chen Yi, I see that you think more thoroughly than I do. Why don't you be our commander?"

Chen Yi had no interest in this. "Don't try to push everything onto my shoulders. I have my own plans."

George had not expected Chen Yi to be so devoid of ambition, and he felt a bit dejected. Originally, the plan was for George to focus solely on combat while leaving all other matters to Chen Yi, but now that Chen Yi had refused, there was nothing to be done.

How could Chen Yi not know that this guy was just trying to be slippery and shirk his duties? However, trying to slack off right in front of him would be impossible.

After a dispute between the two sides, George had no choice. To protect everyone, he had to continue shouldering the heavy responsibility.

Hu Sanhan and Harse had witnessed Chen Yi’s decisiveness firsthand, and they truly admired his choice. Had it been an average person, they would have seen this as a great opportunity to gain status and would have made a show of gratitude. Little did they know, such a move would only bring greater pressure upon oneself.

Chen Yi’s rejection of the proposal was a wise move; at the very least, this decision would yield him the greatest benefit.

Just then, Hu Sanhan noticed dense swarms of micro-organisms approaching. Before he could react, Chen Yi had already grabbed him and Harse and taken flight, while George and his men used their usual combat method—lighting torches to drive the creatures away with fire.

Hu Sanhan gasped, his eyes filled with helplessness. "We just left the dangerous areas of the ocean, and there are so many mutants on land too!"

"What does this count for!" George chuckled while fending off the monsters. "We're already used to it. You know, it would be suspicious if we ever had a peaceful day."

Chen Yi deeply agreed with this sentiment. "I share your view. However, to say that's entirely the case isn't necessarily true."

George increased the intensity of the flames to drive away the bone-gnawing insects, his eyes filled with confusion. "Why do you think that? Could it be..."

Chen Yi dove rapidly, releasing a flash of toxic light. In an instant, the insects were wiped out.

"Whoa!" George and his men were left dumbfounded. "That was an instant kill, and you didn't even draw a blade. Brother, this technique of yours—can you teach us?"
