Chapter 125: Battle Against the Flying Shark

At that moment, the flying shark was glaring at them just as Chen Yi and the others were, poised to launch an attack at any moment.
Chu Yunxi noticed that Vero’s situation was also far from good. The zombies were surging toward him in overwhelming numbers.
“Brother Yi, I don’t think Vero can hold out much longer.”
“Yaxi, go help him. I’ll protect your sister here!”
The instant Chen Yi finished speaking, Chen Yaxi flew toward Vero. With several swift bursts, she pulled him out of danger.
The zombies that had been steadily closing in began to retreat, their will to fight gradually fading.
“I’m saved!”
Panting heavily, Vero felt as though he had narrowly escaped death. His emotions were tangled and conflicted.
Chen Yaxi saw the situation clearly and immediately reminded him, “Uncle Vero, hurry up! How can you still not be taking this seriously at a time like this? My brother is dealing with the shark, but the zombies here are in terrible shape. Look—there are huge numbers of high-level and intelligent zombies!”
Vero understood that perfectly well, but as an ordinary man, there was truly little he could do.
“Little girl, I…”
“Look out!”
Before Vero could finish, Chen Yaxi shot forward and destroyed the flying mid-level zombie charging straight at them.
Flying zombies were not supposed to be capable of such nimble movement, but Chen Yaxi had clearly sensed that something was wrong from the creature’s actions.
Its mobility and penetrating power were both astonishing.
At the same time, the flying shark on Chen Yi’s side began lashing out with its tail. Three heads split from the top of its body as it attempted to attack Chen Yi.
Chu Yunxi swiftly drew her firearm, pulled the trigger, and fired directly at the shark’s eyes.
With a thunderous bang, the shark’s eye was struck head-on. Driven mad by the pain, its three heads stretched endlessly forward, preparing to bite Chu Yunxi to death.
Chen Yi swung both blades in rapid succession and severed the shark’s three split heads.
Yet the severed heads of the mutated shark instantly sprouted limbs and began crawling rapidly toward Chen Yi.
Chen Yi spread his wings, wrapped an arm around Chu Yunxi, and carried her into the air.
“Darling, keep firing. I’ll attack the three-headed shark on the ground!”
Chu Yunxi nodded, then unleashed even greater firepower against the wounded flying shark.

Although the mutated shark’s hide was thick and its flesh tough, its main body was clearly terrified of explosives. After enduring a continuous barrage, it let out a series of agonized shrieks.
The three-headed shark on the ground also began to weaken. This discovery instantly made Chen Yi and Chu Yunxi realize that the shark’s split forms were not invincible.
“Boss, leave this one to us!”
The Zombie Monkey King stepped forward.
“It’s time for us to show what we can do.”
With that, the Zombie Monkey King ordered the zombie monkeys under his command to surround the three-headed shark and tear into it furiously.
The monkeys might have been small and lean, but when they attacked as a group, even the ocean’s supreme predator—the shark—could only bow before them.
Before long, the three split sharks, which had not yet fully gathered their strength, were completely annihilated.
The stench of blood immediately spread through the surrounding air.
Even so, the Zombie Monkey King was still not satisfied.
“Boss, this shark is much larger. Why not let me handle it?”
Chen Yi did not refuse. “If you want to try, go ahead. But remember, it’s different from those split sharks. It possesses true intelligence and extraordinary mobility. If you underestimate it, you’ll regret it.”
The Monkey King nodded and immediately sprang into action.
The flying shark keenly sensed what the zombie monkeys were attempting. It instantly transformed into a Sharknado, intending to destroy everyone and everything around it.
Seeing this, Chen Yi shouted at the zombie monkeys, “All of you, fall back!”
The zombie monkeys quickly withdrew with their companions, while Chen Yi pulled out grenades, yanked the pins, and hurled dozens of them directly into the Sharknado.
Amid a succession of explosions, the largest flying shark within the vortex was blasted with countless wounds.
No matter how desperately it struggled to break free, it remained completely helpless.
Seeing that explosives were effective against the creature, Chen Yi and Chu Yunxi increased their firepower together, attacking the shark with even greater ferocity.
The flying shark was clearly running out of strength. Seizing the opportunity, Chen Yi and Chu Yunxi brought out an antitank missile.
The heavy projectile struck with tremendous force, breaking off half of the flying shark’s wing.
As the shark finally crashed onto the warship’s deck, Chen Yi wasted no time. He released his flame power, marked by red patterns, and instantly engulfed the flying shark in fire.
The flying shark thrashed several times, but in the end, its life was extinguished by the flames, leaving behind nothing but ash.
When the fire was finally put out, a golden crystal core appeared before Chen Yi. Carrying Chu Yunxi, he slowly descended onto the deck.

He wiped the crystal core clean and handed it to Chu Yunxi.
She stared at him in surprise.
“Brother Yi, you…”
Chen Yi smiled.
“Your Mind’s Eye ability requires energy to sustain it. I’m giving you the power within this crystal core. Don’t worry—I’ll be fine even if I go without a crystal core for a long time. But you’re different. You’ve only just gained your powers, so you need the additional strength.”
Chu Yunxi’s gaze grew even gentler as she accepted the power of the crystal core.
As the golden energy entered her body, her strength continued to rise. When she looked at the zombies again, she could clearly see the different attributes of power hidden within them.
To confirm her theory, Chu Yunxi called out directly to Chen Yaxi, “The red zombie to the southeast is afraid of water! The zombie directly ahead is afraid of fire!”
The moment Chu Yunxi identified them, the two named zombies immediately fled in opposite directions.
Chen Yaxi and Vero charged after them and killed them with opposing elemental powers.
After completing all this, Chu Yunxi once again transferred her power into the surrounding waters.
What she saw left her stunned.
More than three thousand feet beneath the seabed, a massive base was hidden.
Whether that base was the headquarters of Organization X remained unknown.
But the greatest question was this: if there was a base down there, how could its inhabitants obtain enough oxygen without coming into contact with the outside world?
In theory, even stored oxygen could not eliminate the unavoidable risks involved.
For that reason, Chu Yunxi turned her eyes toward Chen Yi.
“Brother Yi, I think we should start making plans. If someone can build a base beneath the sea, then we can do the same and create a place of survival that belongs to us!”
Chen Yi nodded.
“You’re right. If the air within the seawater can avoid contamination by the zombies, then this is certainly possible.”
“There’s no time to waste. Let’s get started!”
