Chapter Forty-Two: Seek Benevolence and Find Benevolence; Seek Death and Find Death
Song Ren launched a rapid pursuit.
With a flying kick, he struck the arms that Zheng Qixiong had raised to protect his chest.
Zheng staggered back four or five steps, his arms numb and aching. Before he could even lower his guard, Song Ren closed the distance in two or three strides, exuding an overwhelmingly fierce aura.
Leaping into the air, he delivered a flying knee straight to Zheng's head.
Thud!
Zheng Qixiong staggered back a few more steps, gritting his back molars hard to stay conscious. Yet he only had time to catch a glimpse, through the gap between his arms, of a twisting, swinging leg following closely behind.
A ferocious pain flared up once more in the arms he used to guard his vital points, and his body staggered backward again.
Damn it, this impact force is ridiculously huge!
Song Ren's pursuit was so rapid and fierce that it forced him entirely onto the defensive!
However, Zheng Qixiong's arms had taken multiple heavy blows in succession and ached intensely; he was almost past the point of being able to block.
Whoosh!
Song Ren had no intention of stopping. Catching up once more, he executed an aerial spin, delivering a diagonal single-whip leg with his heel that heavily lashed against the back of Zheng Qixiong's hands, which were bowed to protect his skull.
Bang!
A crisp cracking sound echoed from the back of the hand, accompanied by excruciating pain.
His head was forced downward by the kick. Lunging forward, he couldn't help but drop to one knee before Song Ren.
Yet it did not end there. The sound of a fierce wind rushing past his ear blew by.
A kick shattered the arms Zheng Qixiong no longer had the strength to raise in defense, followed viciously by a strike to his head.
The blow sent Zheng Qixiong flying horizontally through the air, a large mouthful of blood spraying from his mouth as his eyes glazed over and rolled back into his head, his skull crashing heavily against the ground.
Blood oozed from the top of his head, staining a small patch of the arena floor red beneath him.
He had literally been cracked open by a single kick!
Throughout the entire process, even though Zheng Qixiong had curled himself up like a turtle inside its shell, he still suffered catastrophic damage under Song Ren's ferocious assault.
The bones in both of his arms had been subjected to continuous heavy blows, resulting in extensive fracturing.
The strike to the back of his hand was no light matter either, leaving his muscles torn and his metacarpal bones cracked.
Finally, the blow to his head was the most severe of all.
Song Ren had held back none of his strength.
Although he hadn't hit the temple, the kick was immensely powerful and cracked the skull wide open; whether he could survive depended entirely on the will of the heavens.
Such a ferocious offensive posture caused the spectator stands outside the ring, including the twenty-eight VIP rooms on the third floor, to fall silent for a brief moment.
The spectators, most of whom had come to chase after the Tyrannosaurus He Ping, watched the scene with wide-eyed shock.
Each of them held their breath in deep concentration, terrified of missing even a single second.
At the floor-to-ceiling windows of the VIP gallery, pair after pair of faces pressed tightly against the glass trembled all over.
The next moment, an unprecedented roar erupted from the top-tier venue holding over a hundred people.
"So damn fierce! I'm backing this guy all the way!"
"Who is this guy! I love him so damn much!!!"
"Damn it, this is the first time I've ever seen such a satisfying and smooth beating!"
"Brother! Go even harder! I love you to death!"
The spectator section of over a hundred people completely boiled over, roaring as if trying to tear the roof off.
Compared to the other side, where four individuals were still engaged in a chaotic brawl,
Song Ren's two-on-one fight—though he was outnumbered—was not only exhilarating to watch, but so fierce that it made even the audience outside feel a sense of suffocation.
How could it not make one's blood surge with passion?
Just as Song Ren laid Zheng Qixiong low, his older brother, Zheng Qizhizhi, finally managed to drag himself up.
Clutching his lower back in agony, he staggered to his feet.
Just in time, he witnessed the pathetic and tragic scene of Song Ren brutally abusing his brother.
In an instant, his eyes bloodshot, the surging fury in his chest momentarily suppressed the pain in his body.
With a ferocious roar, he lunged at Song Ren as if staking his life:
"You little bastard! I'll take your life!!!"
Song Ren watched coldly, merely turning his head slightly to easily dodge the punch thrown at him.
His lowered eyelids were filled with utter calm as he countered with a palm strike to Zheng Qizhizhi's chest.
Then, raising his right foot, he showed no mercy whatsoever, stamping down hard on Zheng's forward-charging knee.
Crack!
A soft snap echoed from the knee, causing Zheng to pitch forward and collapse.
Yet Song Ren's palm remained pressed flat against his chest. Twisting his body and pushing off his shoulder, he delivered a powerful thrust with his arm.
At close range, he unleashed a burst of *cun-jin* (inch-force)!
Zheng Qizhizhi was struck in a way that arched his spine high backward, his footsteps stumbling back repeatedly.
Song Ren followed closely behind, twisting his body to deliver a single-whip strike in pursuit.
At the very last split second, however, the flash of a cold glint caught the corner of his eye. Swiftly adjusting his angle, his leg grazed past Zheng's upward-thrusting right fist, kicking empty air.
Song Ren glanced down briefly at his torn trouser leg, then back at Zheng Qizhizhi's right fist.
Clutched within his tightly clenched fist, protruding from the gap between the middle and ring fingers, was a three-centimeter-long, razor-sharp little blade.
A palm dagger.
Earlier, this object seemed to have been torn off Zheng Qizhizhi's neck.
Before that, it must have merely been disguised as an ordinary piece of jewelry.
This was Zheng Qizhizhi's desperate, last-ditch killing move, executed by any means necessary.
Song Ren lowered his eyelids, having noticed the color of the palm dagger clutched in the center of the fist.
The very last trace of tranquility in the depths of his eyes was crushed to dust by Song Ren himself.
That purple, three-centimeter-bladed palm dagger was undoubtedly laced with lethal poison.
It was fortunate he had dodged just then; otherwise, things would have gotten deeply troublesome.
Damn it!
At that moment, Song Ren inexplicably experienced the exact feeling Feng Yuxiu must have felt when he fell before the guns.
A layer of gloom instantly shrouded Song Ren's eyes.
This fellow was truly driven to desperation by his beating.
Otherwise, he would never have dared to use a poisoned palm dagger at the Fusu-banning Hegemony Arena; this was tantamount to slapping Fusheng Mansion directly across the face.
After this matter, there was no way he would leave the arena alive.
Still, Zheng Qizhizhi evidently had no other choice left; he had already wagered his life upon the stage.
There was nothing more to say.
Since the opponent was so intensely determined to fight to the death, it was only right to accommodate him.
Song Ren did not wait for the arena referee to intervene; instead, he took the initiative and launched the attack.
Zheng Qizhizhi had already suffered heavy injuries, severely impairing his mobility.
Even wielding a poisoned palm dagger, now that Song Ren had spotted it, it posed no further threat.
Without a shred of hesitation, Song Ren closed in directly.
His hands wove through the air, evading the razor-sharp palm dagger. Like a coiling serpent, he grabbed Zheng Qizhizhi's wrists and yanked them violently downward.
At the same time, he drove his right knee high, slamming it into Zheng's chin and instantly knocking two bloody teeth flying.
Retreating a step and letting go in a fluid motion, he twisted his body and followed up with a whip kick.
Bang!
Zheng Qizhizhi's profile took the full force of the blow, his face contorting as blood mixed with three or four more teeth went flying!
Yet even as his body listed sideways, his left arm was snatched right back by Song Ren!
A direct, ruthless kick smashed savagely into his armpit!
Crack!
His shoulder bone bulged outward!
Zheng Qizhizhi let out a miserable scream, instinctively sweeping out with a horizontal kick.
Song Ren released his arm, stepped forward in pursuit, raised his foot, and looped it around the joints of Zheng's kicking lower and upper leg to hook them together.
His entire body suddenly pressed downward.
Zheng Qizhizhi's form plummeted accordingly, but his straightened kicking leg, obstructed by Song Ren's hook, snapped backward in reverse at the knee joint.
Crack!
The excruciating agony of fracturing bone wrung a tragic wail from Zheng Qizhizhi.
Even the spectators outside the ring sucked in cold breaths in unison, their scalps tingling with numbness.
