Chapter 34: Giving an Inch and Taking a Mile? Chu Xu: I’ll Take on Ten at Once!
The Dakotaraptor family naturally remembered Chu Xu’s family. This time, they were no longer fleeing in a pathetic state; instead, they stared aggressively, their gaze locked specifically on the three young Tyrannosaurus rexes behind the mother.
Trailing closely behind them were over a dozen ferocious Troodons. Though less than half the size of the Dakotaraptors, they were cunning, agile, sharp-toothed, and skilled in pack tactics—not to be underestimated.
This left the Mother T-Rex caught between a rock and a hard place. If she were alone, she would have no reason to fear the siege of these weaklings. But her second daughter and young son lacked the ability to defend themselves; no matter how fierce or powerful she was, it would be difficult to shield them from so many attackers at once.
After weighing the situation, the Mother T-Rex felt the risk was too great. In reality, they had hunted an Thescelosaurus a few days prior and were well-fed, so they were not desperately hungry. To fight to the death against these crazed creatures for the sake of an Edmontosaurus—risking the lives of her own children in the process—was simply not worth the cost.
Having weighed the pros and cons, the Mother T-Rex let out a low growl to her three young ones, slowly shielding them as she retreated. In her eyes, the safety of Chu Xu and his siblings was far more important; if the food was gone, they could simply hunt again.
Seeing the Mother T-Rex retreat, the Dakotaraptor family and the pack of Troodons grew emboldened. Assuming she was easy to manipulate, they pressed forward, their eyes fixed hungrily on the three young T-rexes behind her. It was a rare opportunity; if they could kill one of these young T-rexes before their wings—or rather, their strength—fully developed, they would eliminate a terrifying future rival. They knew all too well how formidable a T-rex would become upon reaching adulthood, making the young ones targets for every carnivore in the vicinity.
"A bunch of pathetic weaklings, actually daring to push their luck... Perfect. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a slaughter."
Chu Xu sensed their murderous intent directed at him and his siblings, Longyue and Liuxing, and his rage ignited. Since they were actively seeking death, he would reluctantly accept their evolution points.
The already stifling air grew increasingly scorched. Following the violent friction between the Triceratops and Edmontosaurus herds, this place of trouble was now the stage for an inevitable conflict between Chu Xu’s T-rex family and the packs of Troodons and Dakotaraptors.
"Awoo!"
The Dakotaraptor family in the front took the initiative, attacking the Mother T-Rex together, forcing her to focus on the front at the expense of her rear.
"ROAR!"
Driven by the instinct to protect her children, the Mother T-Rex was thoroughly enraged. She lunged fiercely at the Dakotaraptors, eager to end the fight quickly. Given her size, a single strike from her would likely prove fatal to any of them. However, the Dakotaraptors were no fools. They didn't dare face her head-on, instead utilizing their speed and agility to dance, dodge, and circle. Every time she lunged with murderous intent, they scattered; the moment she turned back to defend her children, they swarmed forward again. As long as they kept her from tending to the three young T-rexes, their containment strategy was working.
Taking advantage of this, the Troodon pack quickly flanked the rear, tasked with hunting the unprotected young T-rexes.
"Chirp!"
A Troodon that had quietly snuck behind the Mother T-Rex lunged suddenly, aiming straight for the three young T-rexes, Chu Xu included.
"Swish!"
Prepared for this, Chu Xu had already detected the movement. His vertical pupils flared with cold light. Just as the creature pounced, his claws—enhanced by fluid armor—tore through the air with such speed they created afterimages, a sonic boom, and a vortex of wind. In an instant, they struck the Troodon’s neck.
It was like a sharp blade slicing through fruit. A column of blood sprayed out like bursting juice as the Troodon’s slender, fragile neck was severed by Chu Xu’s claws. Its head parted from its body, and the headless corpse slumped to the ground.
Chu Xu’s four-dimensional attributes had now exceeded 400, his weight had reached one ton, and his explosive power could reach a full four tons. With his skills activated, his combat strength was enough to crush most small and medium-sized dinosaurs. The bloody scene of their companion being instantly decapitated terrified the other Troodons, causing them to freeze in hesitation.
Boom—
From Chu Xu’s body, the Troodon pack felt a unique pressure, a heavy weight pressing down on them that left their limbs stiff and their minds dizzy.
"ROAR—!!"
Being on the defensive was not Chu Xu’s style. In his eyes, it wasn't a case of many enemies surrounding him; he was the one surrounding them. With a thunderous roar, he moved at high speed, the shockwaves of his motion kicking up sand and rocks. His massive reptilian body seemed to teleport right in front of the pack.
To the nearest Troodon, a blood-red maw—gaping open at a sixty-degree angle and over a meter in diameter—loomed larger and larger. With rows of sharp, banana-shaped teeth interlocked on blood-red gums, it descended like the blade of a guillotine toward its head!
"CRACK!"
With a violent snap of his jaws, Chu Xu crushed the Troodon’s narrow skull. The bone failed under the pressure, and blood and brains exploded inside his mouth, the scent hitting his nostrils instantly. Chu Xu felt no disgust; instead, his blood boiled with exhilaration!
Without stopping, Chu Xu spun in place, his thick, sturdy tail swinging out like a steel whip. Dragon Tail Sweep!
"POW!"
Another nearby Troodon was struck by his tail. Like a baseball hit for a home run, it flew over a dozen meters before crashing to the ground, paralyzed and unable to rise again.
"ROAR!!"
Having killed three Troodons in succession, Chu Xu remained hungry for more. His eyes burned red, his blood pumping, as he roared at the remaining, seemingly frozen Troodons. An incredibly domineering and sharp kingly aura radiated from his blood-soaked body, climbing to its peak!
Come again! I’ll take on ten!
Behind him, Longyue and Liuxing watched their big brother with shock and excitement. Those enemies that had seemed so vicious and terrifying to them were nothing but paper to him, crumbling at his touch. He was simply too powerful!
"Chirp! Chirp!"
The remaining Troodons retreated in terror, cowering and unable to advance. They never imagined such a half-grown T-rex could be so fierce and terrifying, slaughtering three of their kin as if chopping vegetables!
"Chirp—!!"
As the pack wavered, the Troodon leader stepped forward, letting out a hoarse screech as if giving a command. To be the leader of a Troodon pack, one didn't necessarily have to be the strongest, but one had to be the smartest. The leader saw that Chu Xu was too formidable, but the other two young T-rexes were different—they were much smaller. Pick the softest target; eliminate the other two first!
Receiving the order, the Troodons quickly shifted their target, attempting to bypass Chu Xu and rush toward Longyue and Liuxing.
"Seeking death!"
"WHOOSH—!!"
The next second, accompanied by a whistling sound, these "clever" Troodons were met not with claws, but with a roaring plume of fire, instantly illuminating their terrified faces in a crimson glow!
