Chapter Nineteen: Roasted Dinosaur Meat? Wetland Grasslands

Chu Xu chose not to launch a rash attack.

The ostrich-like dinosaurs were highly alert and incredibly fast runners. Even with his acceleration skills, he could at best catch only one of them.

To capture all three ostrich-like dinosaurs at once, he needed to employ a bit of human ingenuity.

Silently, Chu Xu circled around to the path the dinosaurs had just run along. From the surrounding vegetation, he plucked several supple, slender vine roots.

Using these roots, he strung multiple tripwires tautly between two adjacent tree trunks.

Since his formerly short forelimbs had grown longer, Chu Xu could now perform more agile maneuvers, even tying simple knots with ease.

With these tripwires set, capturing all three ostrich-like dinosaurs at once would be a breeze.

“Roar!!”

Everything was ready except for the crucial moment. Chu Xu made no attempt to hide; instead, he deliberately opened his mouth and let out a fierce roar, striding toward the three dinosaurs engrossed in their feast.

“Gobble! Gobble!”

The three ostrich-like dinosaurs reacted swiftly. Upon spotting Chu Xu, they immediately swung their powerful legs and dashed in the opposite direction with astonishing speed.

Their escape route led directly toward the tripwires Chu Xu had set.

Chu Xu gave chase, roaring repeatedly to intimidate them. In their panic, the dinosaurs failed to notice the traps ahead.

“Thud!!”

Suddenly, the lead dinosaur crashed into the first tripwire. The vine snapped under the impact, and the momentum caused the dinosaur to lose balance and tumble headlong onto the ground, dazed and disoriented.

“Thud! Thud!”

Two more heavy thuds followed in quick succession.

The other two dinosaurs sensed something amiss too late; they couldn’t brake in time and triggered the next two tripwires, crashing down hard in a heap.

At that moment, Chu Xu caught up.

Liquid Armament!

Chu Xu extended his long forelimbs, instantly enveloping his claws in a stream of special liquid energy that sharpened their lethality.

In the next instant, his claws struck with lightning speed, slicing through the air and leaving a deep gouge across one dinosaur’s neck.

“Splurt—!!”

The dinosaur’s major neck artery and cervical vertebrae were torn apart. Its head shot upward, blood gushing like a fountain. The headless body collapsed utterly lifeless, devoid of any strength to rise.

Chu Xu turned his head and bit down fiercely on the second dinosaur’s neck. The liquid energy coated his razor-sharp teeth.

With explosive biting force combined with a powerful twisting of the short neck, the cervical vertebrae snapped and shattered, bending into a grotesque arc. The head was torn off as easily as pulling apart cotton candy—a gruesome, blood-soaked scene.

So powerful!

Chu Xu was thrilled by his first experience with the liquid armament.

The killing power of his claws and teeth had been greatly enhanced by the energy, tearing through flesh and bone as effortlessly as a hot knife slicing butter—a thoroughly exhilarating feeling.
