Noticing Wei Zhitao’s incredulous stare, Ning Rujun let out a mocking laugh. "You have no way out now. You might as well just lie there, suffer, and wait for death."

As her words fell, Wei Zhitao’s expression shifted again. His body was so frail and his respiratory tract so severely infected that the surge of anger stifled his breath. He tried to cough but couldn't, struggling so hard he nearly fainted.

Watching Wei Zhitao’s desperate, resentful state, Ning Rujun smiled softly and continued, "Since you’re going to die anyway, I might as well share a little more news with you."

"Actually, Feng Qingxue’s child is not yours. That supposed paternity test report was nothing more than a forgery she created. Yet, you believed it—you believed it for all these years."

"Are you truly that foolish? The child you doted on for so long isn't even your own flesh and blood. The woman you loved for years never loved you; she was simply looking for a sucker to provide for her and her child. And she specifically infected you with that venereal disease, too!"

Upon hearing this, Wei Zhitao gripped his hands tightly, his eyes bloodshot and wide with rage. He could not accept such a truth and longed to rush out and confront Feng Qingxue immediately.

However, the force of his agitation ironically cleared the blockage in his throat, allowing him to breathe again. He gasped sharply and laboriously on the bed, taking a long time to recover, unable to just drop dead on the spot.

Even though he largely believed Ning Rujun—knowing she would never bother lying to him—Wei Zhitao still clung to a shred of hope. Looking at her, he spoke with immense difficulty, "You... you are lying to me, aren't you? Xue'er, she didn't betray me. The child is mine, right?"

In this moment, Wei Zhitao finally grasped the extent of Ning Rujun’s cruelty. With him suffering from so many ailments, she had no intention of letting him find peace; she wanted him to depart with as much pain and regret as possible. She knew about the betrayals he had committed behind her back, and this was her calculated, vicious retaliation.

Wei Zhitao prayed that everything she said was false—a deception meant to punish him. If only the child were truly his, if only he hadn't been so pathetically swindled by Feng Qingxue, he might have found some solace. But alas, Ning Rujun would never let him off the hook; she would ensure he remained miserable until his final breath.

Looking at him with pity, Ning Rujun shook her head and sneered, "Didn't you love Feng Qingxue so much? Then you should love everything connected to her, shouldn't you? No matter whose child it is, you should have loved it as your own. That’s how it works, right?"

"Or was all that talk of love you gave her conditional? Now that you know the truth, you don't love her anymore? You want to hate her and take revenge?"

"In that case, your love was truly cheap."

Checking the heart monitor and seeing that Wei Zhitao had endured such immense stimulation without collapsing, Ning Rujun couldn't help but admire him. To be cuckolded, poisoned, and played for a fool, yet still hold onto his life—he was truly something.

Knowing she hadn't pushed him far enough, Ning Rujun feigned curiosity and asked, "So, how does it feel? All those years of love, persistence, and hope, dreaming of a son to carry on your legacy—in the end, you were just raising Feng Qingxue’s child, while the real father was someone else. Do you still think it was worth it?"

"As a matter of fact, the child’s real father has been quite intimate with Feng Qingxue the entire time."

"Feng Qingxue is a master of time management. She arranged every minute of your life perfectly, and her ability to squeeze in secret trysts was quite impressive—far better than yours."

Ignoring Wei Zhitao’s even more horrified gaze, Ning Rujun calmly dropped the next bombshell: "You think you’re healthy?"

"You have been infertile from the start. Your sperm count is zero. It would be a miracle if you could conceive a child!"

"Feng Qingxue accompanied you to those check-ups, but she bribed someone to tamper with the results. She claimed she didn't want to hurt your pride as a man, so she altered the report, and you believed her."

At this, Ning Rujun let out another light, mocking laugh. "That is why I knew you were fooling around with her, but I never tore the mask off—I just wanted to watch the joke play out, and I didn't want you to leave this world with any peace."

"Feng Qingxue lived in the house you bought for her, but she frequently entertained her lover there, including the child's real father. She was quite wild."

"I know all of this. I had people monitoring her the whole time, and they even recorded it."

"If you want to see the footage, I would be happy to let you enjoy the show."

As she spoke, a smile played on her lips, but it did not reach her eyes; instead, it was filled with cold, deep-seated malice. Although the exact truth wasn't entirely as described, Ning Rujun mixed fact with fiction to strike at Wei Zhitao’s deepest wounds, determined to make him feel more enraged and miserable than ever.

Sure enough, the barrage of shocking revelations pushed Wei Zhitao to the brink of collapse. His complexion turned ghastly, his breathing became frantic, and he kept his teeth clenched, staring at Ning Rujun as if trying to find any sign of a lie. Every piece of news was enough to crush him; all his sacrifices had become a punchline. He prayed they weren't true.

But Ning Rujun didn't care to argue. She simply opened a surveillance app on her phone and held it in front of his eyes.

In the video, the people engaged in vigorous activity were unmistakable—it was indeed Feng Qingxue.

Seeing it with his own eyes, confirming that she had betrayed him, used him, and that the child wasn't his, Wei Zhitao felt his blood turn to ice. He shivered uncontrollably. He had spent years believing everything was under his control, convinced he could manage both women, thinking he was clever—yet in the end, he had controlled nothing at all.

He was nothing but a joke.
