Su Chen instinctively clenched her hands as she looked at the new clothes, the perfectly pressed garments now crumpled under her grasp.

"How clever! I thought he was honest, but I never expected him to be so cunning, secretly hoarding so much silver!"

"Mother, come on, let's find Father!"

The couple was tidying up the chaotic mess in the kitchen. The damage couldn’t have been worse, and as they cleaned, Luo Yunhe’s cheeks still burned with embarrassment.

The impulsive act had to be dealt with by them in the end.

From now on, she vowed to restrain her tempers and avoid causing Su Jingxuan any more trouble—after all, he had already suffered enough.

It took about half an hour to thoroughly clean the kitchen, but the broken pots and dishes were beyond repair.

Just as they finished, Su Ruyi appeared at the kitchen doorway, her eyes gleaming with schadenfreude.

"Eldest brother, Father and Mother are waiting for you in the main hall!"

Su Jingxuan straightened his posture and frowned tightly as he looked at his sister at the door.

"Husband, do you think they’re going to trouble you again over lunch?" The thought of Su Jingxuan being dragged into trouble because of her made Luo Yunhe ready to fight.

If anyone dared to lay a hand on him, she would not stand idly by.

"Don’t worry, I’ve got this," Su Jingxuan assured her.

He then reached out with his uninjured hand, took hers, and led her toward the main hall.

As they neared the door, he let go and told her to wait there, "No matter what you hear, don’t lose your temper or respond—just wait calmly for me here."

Luo Yunhe tried to refuse but seeing the determination in Su Jingxuan’s eyes, she reluctantly nodded.

"Alright, then be careful."

"I know. Don’t worry."

Su Jingxuan squared his shoulders and stepped firmly into the main hall.

Outside, Luo Yunhe anxiously watched his retreating figure, her heart pounding with worry. It wasn’t long before the sound of shattering porcelain and angry curses erupted from within the hall.

Her anxiety deepened. This bizarre family—her parents-in-law and younger aunt—never knew how to treat Su Jingxuan properly.

It was all her fault for being so impulsive and causing him such trouble.

"You traitor! How dare you say such things? Don’t you know how difficult this household is? Today she wasted so much food and even stole my eggs. She hit me and your father! Such a domineering woman must be cast out! The Su family cannot tolerate such a daughter-in-law!"

"Eldest brother, you’re so unfairly biased. She’s an outsider, but how can you treat the parents who raised you like this? Look at the clothes you bought for her—they’re better than mine. How can you turn against us? I think you’ve forgotten your roots, trading your mother for a wife—you’re a heartless bastard!"

"Eldest brother, this woman must go!" Su Shan was in pain all over, his face bruised and swollen. If she didn’t leave soon, their home would never know peace.

"Father, I will not divorce her. If you truly cannot accept me, then evict us. After all, it’s my earnings that have supported this household all these years while you live in luxury. And now you forbid my wife even an egg?"

Smack! Su Chen furiously slapped Su Jingxuan across the face.

He stood straight, a bright red palm print blooming on his cheek, yet his expression remained resolute, showing no sign of retreat.

"Su Jingxuan, I’m warning you—send that woman away, or don’t blame me for being harsh!" Su Chen glared fiercely.

Since bringing this daughter-in-law home, Su Jingxuan had become rebellious, defying the family.

In the past, he had been obedient and silent, never resisting any family decisions. Money was given without question, tasks done without complaint.

But now, he repeatedly demanded to split the family—an upheaval.

He had no chance of dividing the household, let alone living independently. Even in death, he was to remain the Su family’s breadwinner.

"If you parents refuse to let us separate, then don’t talk about forcing me to divorce my wife. If she struck you, it’s because you went too far. It’s just an egg—why make such a fuss? Don’t forget, I’m the one earning money here, not you. If you don’t work, you have no right to boss me around!" Su Jingxuan’s words darkened the faces of the three adults instantly.

Unable to bear the drastic change in their once-compliant son, Su Shan stood and grabbed a nearby stick, swinging it at Su Jingxuan.

"You’re rebellious now! Not listening to a word I say? Today I’ll beat you senseless!" The dull thuds of the stick hitting flesh echoed as Su Jingxuan gritted his teeth, refusing to strike back.

"Father, beat him! That unfilial son keeps demanding to split the family—he deserves a harsh lesson!"

Luo Yunhe, already worried, could no longer bear the sound of the beating. She grabbed a thick stick from the yard, forgetting Su Jingxuan’s earlier advice, and rushed into the room.

"You shameless old fools! How dare you hit my husband? Today I’ll make you beg on your knees!"

She moved swiftly like lightning, pelting Su Shan with a furious barrage of blows.

"Ah!"

"Mother, hurry! Father’s in trouble!"

Su Jingxuan, still aching from the blows, barely had time to react before seeing a figure rush out before him.

Su Shan hadn’t expected Luo Yunhe’s sudden attack and was forced to drop his stick, wincing in pain as he dodged frantically around the hall.

In an instant, the once arrogant trio was thrown into disarray.

Luo Yunhe showed no mercy, striking indiscriminately until all three were cornered and cowering.
