Recalling how the original owner had been so cruelly bullied by that despicable mother-in-law, Luo Yunhe felt a surge of anger and grievance welling up inside her. However, when she caught sight of Su Chen’s murderous glare, she decided to swallow her pride for the time being.

Quickly, she grabbed an egg, stuffed it into her mouth, and then swiftly ate all the remaining eggs in the bowl, placing the empty dish on the table. Without missing a beat, she picked up a wooden stick nearby, ready for whatever might come.

“You wretched little brat! How dare you steal my eggs! I’ll tear your mouth apart!” Su Chen snarled furiously, brandishing her stick as she lunged toward Luo Yunhe.

Her mind was consumed by one thought—this shameless girl had dared to pilfer her precious eggs, the ones she had painstakingly saved!

Without hesitation, Luo Yunhe raised the stick in defense and struck Su Chen hard. She was acting in self-defense; this was her own doing, and she was only protecting herself.

After taking a blow, Su Chen summoned some unknown strength, grabbed the other end of the stick, and tried to wrest it away. Freeing one hand, she attempted to claw at Luo Yunhe.

But Luo Yunhe held the stick tightly, tugging back with all her might. Gritting her teeth, she glared at Su Chen with unyielding determination.

“So what if I ate it? I even cooked the rice. I rummaged through all your stored goodies and prepared them myself—I ate them too!” she retorted defiantly as she struggled.

“That meat was delicious, and those eggs were fragrant. What are you going to do about it?” Luo Yunhe taunted as she pulled, provoking Su Chen further.

Frugality to the extreme, Su Chen never imagined this cursed brat would dare do such a thing.

The rice… she had never even allowed herself to cook it before, yet this girl had done so?

Her meat…

“You’re nothing but a thief, a damned thief! Stealing my eggs, my meat, even my rice! I won’t forgive you!” Su Chen raged, no longer bothering to wrestle for the stick.

Like a furious tigress provoked, she launched herself straight at Luo Yunhe.

“Ah!”

Sensing imminent danger, Luo Yunhe quickly raised the wooden stick and struck at Su Chen.

“Bang!”

“Smack…”

“Crash…”

The kitchen erupted into chaos as the two fought fiercely, the sounds of their battle echoing throughout.

The dull thuds of the stick hitting flesh, the sharp shatter of porcelain breaking, mingled with their angry shouts and curses.

For a time, the entire kitchen was thrown into pandemonium.

What had once been a tidy space was now utterly wrecked by their violent struggle.

Pots, pans, and bowls lay scattered on the floor, and even the freshly prepared meals were spilled and ruined.

The scene was so disordered it was almost unbearable to witness.

Neighbors once again heard the commotion from the house, each peering out curiously, their eager expressions fully apparent.

Su Shan returned leisurely from outside, hands clasped behind his back, humming a tune. As he neared his doorstep, the noise from the courtyard caught his attention.

His humming ceased, his pace quickened, and upon entering, he carried a basket of pig feed. Then came the sounds of fighting and cursing from the kitchen.

“What… what are you two doing?” Su Shan stormed to the kitchen doorway, his face darkening as he took in the scene, breathing heavily with fury.

Inside, the two were still locked in combat amid the chaos. White grains of rice were scattered all over the floor.

Grain was being wasted like this.

Su Shan was so angry he nearly doubled over.

“Enough!” he bellowed, his voice thunderous, causing the two to immediately halt, both staring at him in terror, their faces pale.

“Husband, you have to take my side! That damned little brat is lazy and good-for-nothing, doing nothing around the house. She ate all my rice and meat, even my eggs—the things I painstakingly saved, all gone…”

Su Chen, upon seeing Su Shan, acted as though she had found her savior, sobbing as she threw herself into his arms, tears and snot streaming as she wailed.

At this moment, Su Chen was disheveled, her clothes rumpled, utterly miserable, bruises and scrapes covering her body, and a large swollen bruise marking her face, evoking pity.

In contrast, Luo Yunhe, though her clothes were slightly tousled, showed no obvious injuries—only her hair was a tangled mess, as if she had just been through a fierce fight.

Judging by her nimble movements, she was not seriously harmed and was now flexing her wrists, ready to continue arguing with Su Chen.

“Hmph! Evil people always cry victim first! I worked hard to prepare a hearty meal for this family, and you come home and smash it all without a word. The grain was wasted because of you, not me. Do you want us to eat spoiled, rotten food? Your behavior is the real stinginess!” Luo Yunhe retorted boldly.

“You’re spouting nonsense! It was you who stole so many things and ate them yourself.

“Husband, we only have so much to begin with. I saved and hoarded it for our future. Look at all that pristine white rice—it’s unheard of for anyone to cook so much like her. If she keeps eating like this, she’ll drain us dry! Boo hoo… Husband, say something…”

Su Shan’s anger had reached its peak as he fixed a cold glare on Luo Yunhe.

Ever since this little girl came into their home, how much trouble has she caused?

The household had become utterly unsettled.

“Luo Yunhe, leave. Our family can’t tolerate you!” Su Shan finally spat out.

Luo Yunhe had hoped this stepfather might say something else, but never expected he was driving her away.

“I’ll leave—on one condition: I’m taking Su Jingxuan with me!” In this house, the most precious person to her was this makeshift husband.

If she left, she would take him along.

“Who gave you the right to take him? He’s my son. What qualifications do you have to take him?”

“Hmph. He’s my husband. Wherever I go, he goes. What, should he stay here working hard to support a family of bloodsuckers like you?” Luo Yunhe sneered at them.

“Husband, throw her out!” Su Chen, realizing she couldn’t win against this cursed girl, pointed fiercely at her.

“Hmph, girl, I’m giving you one last chance—leave the Su household, or don’t blame this old man for being ruthless!”
