Exhausted, Luo Yunhe didn’t notice Su Jingxuan’s embarrassment. So much had happened on her first day there, and weariness weighed down her entire body; she lay down and quickly fell into a deep sleep.
Su Jingxuan watched the young woman drift off, a tenderness softening his brows.
After carefully tucking the quilt around her, he slowly lay down himself, though keeping a slight distance between them.
After a restful night, Luo Yunhe stretched lazily upon waking in the morning.
Just then, Su Jingxuan brought her breakfast into the room.
At that moment, the sharp, biting voice of Madam Su pierced Luo Yunhe’s ears early in the morning.
“Ugh, good-for-nothing, lazy creature. Waking up late and still having someone bring breakfast to your room—does she really think she’s some noble lady?”
“A worthless life should have the appearance to match!”
Such cruel words struck her ears at dawn, causing Luo Yunhe to furrow her brows tightly.
Su Jingxuan promptly closed the doors and windows of his room.
“My dear, don’t listen to Mother’s words! You must be hungry—come, eat quickly!”
Seeing Su Jingxuan treat her so kindly, the anger that had been simmering in Luo Yunhe’s heart vanished completely.
“Husband, you’re so good!”
Watching how much his wife had changed, warmth filled Su Jingxuan’s heart.
“Oh, by the way, husband, just return these clothes today and exchange them for some ordinary ones.”
Su Jingxuan frowned as he looked at the package she handed over.
“Husband, I know you care for me, but given our current situation, if I dress so finely every day, others will speak ill of you. I don’t want anyone to say that—I’d feel hurt. So, some coarse cloth clothes will do.”
“Alright, I’ll buy you better ones later.”
Luo Yunhe agreed.
After finishing breakfast, Su Jingxuan tidied his books, hesitating whether to go out. He worried that if he left, she might be bullied.
Seeing Su Jingxuan’s hesitation, Luo Yunhe patted his shoulder to comfort him. “Husband, you should focus on your work. Don’t worry about me, I can handle myself! They won’t bully me.”
“Wife, if they do, fight back! I’ll cover all the videos for you!”
“Pfft... Since when did a son encourage his wife to fight his own mother? Alright, alright, I get it!”

After seeing Su Jingxuan off, Luo Yunhe began to contemplate what she should do next.
She also checked her system points.
She had earned nearly ten thousand points just yesterday.
Maybe she should find something to do today?
While pondering, Su Ruyi stepped out of her room.
When she saw Luo Yunhe, her eyes were filled with malice.
Thinking of the damn fool from yesterday—who had not only hit her but taken her clothes and even soiled their own—she burned with an inexplicable fury.
Knowing she couldn’t gain anything from Luo Yunhe, she quickly schemed how to make her suffer a loss.
Soon, a wicked idea took shape in her mind.
Her vicious expression quickly shifted to a fake, flattering smile as she approached Luo Yunhe.
“Um, Big Sister-in-law, good morning!” If it weren’t for her plan to deal with her, who would willingly call her that? Just uttering those words made her feel so stifled.
Luo Yunhe, lost in thought, was interrupted. Frowning, she turned and saw Su Ruyi’s face full of ill intent.
Where there was abnormal behavior, there was surely trouble—Su Ruyi must be plotting something malicious again.
“Oh, Little Sister-in-law, didn’t you say yesterday you wouldn’t call me Big Sister-in-law? How quickly you’ve eaten your words today!”
Who couldn’t be sarcastic or sharp-tongued?
Su Ruyi’s face stiffened, forced into a fake smile, barely able to maintain it upon hearing those words.
“Big Sister-in-law, what nonsense! You’re already part of my elder brother’s family, one of us now. We argue and bicker, but that’s no way to be. A family should live in harmony, right?”
“Enough. At least you’re speaking some sense today!” Luo Yunhe retained her proud air.
Yet her eyes cooled as she looked at Su Ruyi, naturally catching the malicious glint in her gaze.
“Big Sister-in-law, you’re not so foolish now. You’ve been in the village a while but probably haven’t explored much. How about I take you around for a walk?”
A walk? More likely a ploy to attack me in secret.
Luo Yunhe didn’t expose her trick and obediently nodded.
“Alright! Let’s go! Today, Big Sister-in-law is giving you a chance to reform!” Luo Yunhe said generously.
Su Ruyi clenched the corner of her dress, hating Luo Yunhe’s self-righteous, oblivious attitude.
Thinking of the harsh lesson she would soon deliver, she quickly suppressed her anger and put on a false smile.
“Let’s go, Big Sister-in-law…”

Luo Yunhe followed Su Ruyi out.
Just as they stepped outside, Su Chen returned from the outside. The moment she came back, she immediately looked for Luo Yunhe.
Finding her not at home, she fumed with rage and began cursing loudly in the courtyard.
The Moonrise Village had roughly over five hundred residents.
The eastern side was the village exit.
All houses faced south.
To the west flowed a river.
Though the houses were unevenly arranged, they were scattered in an orderly fashion.
Villagers loved to sit beneath the great locust tree, chatting and gossiping.
After wandering around the village with Luo Yunhe, Su Ruyi suddenly pretended to have a stomachache.
Luo Yunhe knew she was faking it and didn’t expose her, letting her leave her sight.
Shortly after Su Ruyi left, Luo Yunhe began observing the entire Moonrise Village along the river.
She walked westward along the riverbank.
Because she was a stranger, villagers passing by stared at her and whispered to each other.
“Who is this girl?”
“She’s quite pretty!”
“Never seen her before. I wonder whose daughter she is…”
To the west lay vast fields, where villagers were busy at work—some weeding, others watering—everyone bustling with activity.
Soon after Su Ruyi’s departure, she found Xiao Qing.
Su Ruyi usually got along well with Xiao Qing and, knowing Xiao Qing had been humiliated by Luo Yunhe yesterday, immediately pulled her aside to whisper.
“As long as the two of us team up, we can definitely give her a lesson today. Don’t you want revenge for yourself?” Su Ruyi noticed her hesitation.
