In the bustling district of the Demon Realm, at the Hundred Winds Tea House, Yu Tingye sat alone by a second-story window. After half a cup of tea, A-Jiu hurried over and bowed respectfully. "Lord Tingye."

Yu Tingye set down his teacup and closed the window, shutting out the clamor from outside. "Speak."

A-Jiu hesitated, appearing unsure of how to begin.

"Meng Zhe is dead. How did she react?" Yu Tingye asked.

"Judging by her expression at the time, Miss Wan seemed rather saddened," A-Jiu replied.

"Anything else?"

A-Jiu thought for a moment. "Miss Wan said some very strange things to Shuangyi. She kept asking if she was also a transmigrator, and whether she knew how to go back. It was all very bizarre; I couldn't make heads or tails of it. But Shuangyi didn't seem to understand what she was talking about either."

After a pause, A-Jiu added, "Oh, and Lord Tingye, Miss Wan pulled Shuangyi aside and whispered to her for a long time. I don't know what she said, but after hearing it, Shuangyi became very agitated, and then she left obediently."

"I see," Yu Tingye called out, "Luoxue."

An enchanting woman appeared out of thin air. Her icy gaze seemed to melt the moment it landed on Yu Tingye. "Lord Tingye."

"Bring Shuangyi to me," Yu Tingye commanded.

"Understood."

Once Luoxue had departed, Yu Tingye told A-Jiu, "Continue to keep a close watch on Wanwan. Do not let a single move of hers escape your notice."

A-Jiu nodded.

"You may leave."

A-Jiu retreated in haste.

Yu Tingye pushed open the window, where the cries of hawkers and the din of the market filled the air.

In less than a moment, Shuangyi was brought before him. Her hair and clothes were in complete disarray, and a bright red palm print marred her face.

"When I found her," Luoxue told Yu Tingye, "she was being bullied by Meng Yan. Had I arrived a moment later, he likely would have had his way with her."

Yu Tingye cared nothing for this; he was only concerned with what Wanwan had said to her. "Luoxue, you may leave for now."

A flicker of darkness crossed Luoxue's eyes, but she retreated obediently.

Shuangyi knelt before Yu Tingye, her body trembling, clearly terrified.

Yu Tingye crouched halfway before her, his slender, well-defined fingers reaching out to lift her chin. Her face was drenched in tears, yet the vivid palm print remained unmistakable. "Did Meng Yan do this?"

Shuangyi’s eyes were dazed.

Yu Tingye released her. "Get up."

Shuangyi rose shakily.

"Tell me everything Wanwan said to you, word for word," Yu Tingye said, returning to his seat by the window.

Shuangyi instantly grew guarded. "I don't know what you are talking about, Lord Tingye."

Yu Tingye frowned slightly. "Speak!"

Shuangyi remained silent.

After waiting for a while without a reply, Yu Tingye summoned two demon soldiers. "Strip her and send her to the Tiger King’s bed."

Upon hearing this, Shuangyi’s face drained of color. She immediately fell to her knees. "Lord Tingye, the Demon Venerable didn't say much to me. She only instructed me to obey you, to avoid causing trouble, and not to make you angry."

Yu Tingye waved his hand, and the two soldiers retreated knowingly.

"If you do not tell the truth, I will cast your younger brother, Shuangyu, into the Human Realm."

Shuangyi crawled toward Yu Tingye. "Lord Tingye, I am telling the truth. That is indeed what the Demon Venerable said to me."

"It seems you wish for your brother to gain some experience in the Human Realm."

"No!" Shuangyi gripped Yu Tingye’s sleeve tightly. "I will speak. As long as you leave my brother alone, I will tell you everything."

Yu Tingye seized her wrist, warning her word by word, "If there is even a shred of falsehood in what you say, I will surely cripple your brother."
