“Brother, sister-in-law, what are you doing?” Tang Xin’er led Shuangyu and stood outside the door, watching Lin Xihe and Yu Tingye.

Yu Tingye said to Lin Xihe, “Go out.”

Without hesitation, Lin Xihe stepped forward and walked out immediately.

Seeing this, Shuangyu called after her, “Miss Wan.”

Lin Xihe paused for a moment but continued walking. Shuangyu hurried after her and called again, “Miss Wan.”

Lin Xihe had no choice but to stop.

Tang Xin’er approached Yu Tingye with concern and asked, “Brother, did you have a fight with sister-in-law?”

“Not at all.”

“Then why are you in a bad mood?”

“Xin’er, come here. Let brother hold you.”

Tang Xin’er quickly walked over and threw herself into Yu Tingye’s arms, hugging him tightly. “Brother, how wonderful it would be if we weren’t siblings.”

Yu Tingye stroked her head gently. “This is pretty good too.”

Shuangyu hurried over to Lin Xihe, excitedly asking, “Miss Wan, where is my sister?”

Lin Xihe dared not tell Shuangyu that her sister was gone.

“Miss Wan, where is my sister?” Shuangyu asked again.

Suppressing her sadness, Lin Xihe forced a smile. “Your sister went to the human realm. She said she had to find something there. Before she left, she entrusted you to me. As for when she’ll come back, she didn’t say. I’m not sure either.”

---

“To the human realm?” Shuangyu found it very strange. “Such a big matter, why didn’t she tell me?”

Lin Xihe guessed, “Maybe she thought you were too young, so she didn’t tell you.”

Shuangyu sighed, “That’s possible. My sister is always like that—bearing everything on her own since we were little. Thank you, Miss Wan.”

Lin Xihe forced a smile. After Shuangyu left, tears streamed down her face. She quickly wiped them away and hurried back to her chamber.

After returning to her chamber, Lin Xihe buried her head in sleep.

Two days later, one evening, A Jiu came to Lin Xihe and said, “Miss, Lord Tingye wants to see you.”

“No,” Lin Xihe refused outright.

A Jiu asked worriedly, “Are you sure you don’t want to see him?”

Lin Xihe thought for a moment, then sat up on the bed. “Fine, I’ll go take a look.”

---

In the Qingxin Hall.

Lin Xihe had no resistance to Yu Tingye’s appearance, figure, or his entire being, yet tonight she had no mood for it.

“Come here.” Yu Tingye sat on the edge of the bed, reaching out his hand to her.

Usually, she would have happily rushed over and kissed him endlessly, but tonight she was full of resentment.

“You won’t come over, huh?”

In a clearly threatening tone, Lin Xihe hesitated but still walked toward him.

Yu Tingye pulled her into his arms, lowered his head to kiss her, but Lin Xihe dodged.

---

Then her chin was suddenly gripped tightly by Yu Tingye.

“What right do you have to refuse me?”

Her chin hurt terribly under his grip. Lin Xihe looked at him pitifully. “Ye, it hurts.”

Yu Tingye released her chin and claimed her lips.

Their passion lasted until deep into the night.

Yu Tingye slowly got up, covered Lin Xihe with the blanket, and walked out alone.

The night was silent and still.

He took out the dagger he always carried, stabbed it into his palm.

The pain brought him some clarity.

“Ye.”

Hearing Lin Xihe calling him, Yu Tingye used his demonic power to heal the wound, put away the dagger, and quickly walked back inside.

Upon entering, he found Lin Xihe was still asleep, murmuring.

“Don’t kill anymore, Ye.”
