Chapter 24: You must choose between him and me!
"A... A-Yu, is what Emperor of Film Yan said true? Are you really already married?"
Wei Feng waited for her answer with a heart full of trepidation. An indescribable sorrow spread throughout his entire body, and his chest throbbed with waves of pain.
"What he said is true."
Jiang Chiyu answered firmly, meeting Wei Feng's gaze and sensing the faint, swirling sadness in his eyes.
Seeing Wei Feng's reaction, Yan Chuanzhou felt a sense of immense satisfaction. His irritation was replaced by delight, and he spoke triumphantly, "Now that you've heard it, stop pestering her..."
Before he could finish, Jiang Chiyu interrupted him and continued speaking to Wei Feng, "But we are getting a divorce."
As soon as the words left her lips, the moods of the other two plummeted and soared like a rollercoaster.
Wei Feng’s gloom vanished instantly. He couldn't help but rush forward, grabbing Jiang Chiyu’s hand, his eyes filled with joy. "When are you getting the divorce? Do you need my help?"
His underlying intentions were immediately laid bare; Wei Feng looked even happier than Jiang Chiyu.
Startled by his sudden offer, Jiang Chiyu looked at him suspiciously. "It's not like you're the one getting a divorce. You look more excited than I am."
"I'm just afraid the other party might be too difficult. What if they won't let you go and demand an astronomical amount of pre-marital assets? I have lawyer friends who can help."
"I don't think he will."
As Jiang Chiyu said this, her eyes darted toward Yan Chuanzhou, and a worrying hypothesis popped into her mind.
Yan Chuanzhou is so rich; he shouldn't be petty over these peanuts, right? But what if he is? Who would ever think they have too much money!
Seeing Jiang Chiyu’s gaze gradually turn skeptical, Yan Chuanzhou couldn't help but let out a bitter laugh. "The other party won't."
Wei Feng found Yan Chuanzhou rather annoying by now and instinctively retorted, "How can you be so sure? What if the other party is a scumbag, a deadbeat..."
"I am not." Yan Chuanzhou interrupted him with a hint of indignation.
Something about this didn't feel right. Just as Wei Feng was about to argue back, realization dawned on him. He turned to look at Yan Chuanzhou. "You... the person A-Yu married is you?"
Seeing that he had figured it out, Yan Chuanzhou closed his eyes in resignation and gave a silent nod.
"Oh... well... I suppose that is true then."
The quiet air was thick with awkwardness. Wei Feng busily scratched his head, his eyes darting away, looking completely at a loss.
But Jiang Chiyu didn't seem convinced. After a moment of serious thought, she said to Wei Feng, "Let's call your friend anyway, just for peace of mind."
"Huh? Oh, right, sure, of course." Wei Feng was a bit surprised by her words.
It seemed that Jiang Chiyu felt a profound lack of security in this marriage.
"Are you still doubting me? We just obtained the certificate. There is no marital life, we live separately, and there are no financial ties between us," Yan Chuanzhou defended himself.
Yet, this explanation only served to make Wei Feng feel both pleasantly surprised and heartbroken. Anger welled up in his eyes. "If you don't love her, why did you marry her? And after the wedding, you go around having scandals with other women. Don't you think that’s incredibly unfair to A-Yu?"
*Taking up the nest without laying any eggs, what the hell was the point of getting married?*
Caught off guard by the question, Yan Chuanzhou didn't react immediately, staring blankly at Wei Feng.
Wei Feng continued his interrogation, "You knew she liked you, so you chose to marry her and give her hope, only to use public opinion to hurt her later. You are even more hateful than a typical scumbag!"
Wei Feng’s face grew dark, his tone becoming increasingly resentful. Having finished his sentence, he lunged forward and punched Yan Chuanzhou.
The solid blow landed on his face. Yan Chuanzhou felt a searing pain, and by the time he regained his senses, a trace of blood had already appeared at the corner of his mouth.
Never expecting Wei Feng to resort to violence on her behalf, Jiang Chiyu was shocked by the scene. She hadn't realized that someone with such a gentle temperament could be so fierce.
Seeing the tension escalating into open conflict, Jiang Chiyu swallowed hard, shocked, and began to plead earnestly, "Alright, alright, stop fighting! We have to record the show tomorrow. If you break your face, you'll look ugly and lose fans!"
However, the only one with a "broken" face at the moment was Yan Chuanzhou.
Yan Chuanzhou looked at her indignantly and snapped, "Am I ugly?"
"Huh? No, not at all, you're very handsome." Jiang Chiyu was momentarily stunned by his question and immediately moved to soothe his ego.
His deep, sculpted features were impeccable, and the trace of blood at the corner of his mouth only added a sharp, dangerous allure.
No sooner had she finished speaking than she was pulled away and held firmly by Wei Feng. He asked, sounding like a petulant child, "A-Yu, what about me?"
"You're handsome, you're also handsome, both of you are very handsome."
Unlike Yan Chuanzhou’s aggressive features, Wei Feng’s eyes were gentle and soulful, as if he were born with a tender gaze. He had the face of a quintessential first love.
Facing their childish bickering, Jiang Chiyu had no choice but to play along, terrified that they would start fighting again if she made a wrong move.
"No way. Between him and me, you have to choose one!"
There was always someone trying to stir up trouble.
Yan Chuanzhou, feeling slighted, forced Jiang Chiyu to make a choice. At this, Wei Feng’s soulful eyes stared at Jiang Chiyu, full of hope.
The two of them looked like golden retrievers waiting for their master’s command—very obedient. But the question they posed was anything but obedient.
Internally, Jiang Chiyu rolled her eyes at Yan Chuanzhou. *Trying to stir up trouble, are you? Want an answer, do you? Well, I’m not playing along!*
"You’re the ugliest one. You are the most vicious, most calculating person I’ve ever met. Do your parents even know you turned out like this?" Jiang Chiyu pointed at Yan Chuanzhou and spoke with a straight face, leaving him no room to breathe.
His eyes dimmed instantly. Yan Chuanzhou suppressed his temper and asked in a low voice, "So, you like him?"
"It’s none of your business who I like. Go back and hug your Lin Qingyue and stop bothering me. Every single day, it’s just exhausting." Jiang Chiyu had lost her patience; she just wanted to get rid of him and answered dismissively.
"I never said I wanted a divorce. Don’t think you can just toss me aside so easily—impossible!" Yan Chuanzhou’s face darkened, his tone unfriendly.
Hearing him go back on his word, Jiang Chiyu frowned, looking at him with confusion.
"You say you'll divorce, then you don't? What do you take A-Yu for? Someone you can summon at will and discard when you’re done?" Wei Feng was the first to object.
In his eyes, Jiang Chiyu had always been the one getting the short end of the stick in this relationship.
"What right do you have to interfere here?" Yan Chuanzhou flew into a rage and swung a punch at Wei Feng.
Expecting to catch him off guard, the punch was instead caught by Jiang Chiyu’s hand. Both men looked at her in surprise.
Yan Chuanzhou narrowed his eyes, his voice turning cold. "Are you protecting him?"
"I am protecting both of you. If you actually fight, it won't do anyone any good. Don't be so childish. If there's no affection, we should just get a divorce." Jiang Chiyu let go of his hand, her face devoid of any emotion.
But internally, she was screaming: *Sss—that hurts! This body is too weak; I almost couldn't catch it.*
Yan Chuanzhou paused, looked at Jiang Chiyu, and after a moment of silence, suddenly said, "What if I told you I love you?"
