“Mr. Ma, we’ve had several video calls already. You said you could help me realize my dream. I’d like to hear your conditions,” Li Mida said calmly.

Though her expression was composed, her eyes betrayed her nervousness and anticipation.

“Ah, Li Mida, Li Mida, if you hadn’t met me, Ma Wu, you might have been ruined by that man because of your dream of stardom.” Ma Wu sighed. Why did all the beautiful women in the world love chasing the dream of becoming a star?

“Let’s find a place to talk,” Ma Juteng suggested.

“Let's go to my place, it’s just upstairs,” Li Mida invited without hesitation.

Ma Juteng’s heart raced, filled with eager anticipation.

Invisible, Ma Wu followed, slipping into the apartment unseen.

The two of them sat on the living room sofa, and Li Mida poured him some tea.

“Mr. Ma, if you have any requests, please state them directly.” Li Mida sat demurely, her hands clasped between her knees.

Ma Juteng was in no rush. He picked up the teacup, took a sip, and began, “Hey, do you know the world-famous director, Li Xiaogang?”

At the mention of Li Xiaogang, Li Mida’s eyes lit up as if a blind man had suddenly seen the light—she was visibly excited.

“Him? He’s my favorite director. His films are truly amazing. My three favorite directors are Li Xiaogang, Wang Ji, and Wu Senlin, but Li Xiaogang is by far my favorite.”

Seeing her expression, Ma Juteng looked pleased. “You’re overestimating things. You’re not as perfect as you imagine. He’s a good director in the eyes of the audience, but in front of my family, he’s nothing but a lapdog.”

Ugh...

Invisible, Ma Wu felt sick. A pimp putting on airs, deceiving women—it was utterly disgusting.

Li Mida blinked several times, unable to accept what she was hearing.

“Recently, our family is going to have Li Xiaogang direct a major film. We need a new female lead, and I’ve chosen you. I can get you the role,” he said, crossing his legs shamelessly.

At this, Li Mida was overjoyed, inhaling sharply.

“But don’t get excited yet. There are conditions. You must know the unspoken rules of show business, right?”

The implication was obvious; how could Li Mida not understand? She had heard the stories—accompanying directors, producers, bosses to bed, and so on.

“Well...” Li Mida was clearly unwilling.

She had dreams of stardom, but she would never sell herself for a role.

“Last time we video-chatted, you saw it yourself—Li Xiaogang’s attitude toward me... wasn’t he downright deferential?” Ma Juteng stroked his chin, his eyes roaming over Li Mida’s nearly-bursting uniform, his desire building.

Seeing her indecision, Ma Juteng pressed on: “How about this? Sleep with me once, and I guarantee you’ll land a role in Li Xiaogang’s film.”

“Well...” Li Mida hesitated. She had no interest in Ma Juteng’s appearance whatsoever.

His slightly overweight figure and looks did nothing for her.

“Let me think about it.”

“What’s there to consider? It’s such a great opportunity. If you pass it up, you’ll regret it. Besides, you won’t lose out,” Ma Juteng said, growing impatient.

He was aroused, desperate for a woman.

“Do you know how many girls want to sleep with me just for a chance to be in Li Xiaogang’s film? I turned them all down. Why did I choose you? Because of your temperament, your looks—they fit perfectly. And I like women like you.”

Li Mida said nothing, her brow furrowed. She had no intention of agreeing, racking her brain for a way to get rid of him without offending him.

“So, have you made up your mind? If not, I’ll just find someone else,” Ma Juteng said, his impatience growing.

“Mr. Ma, perhaps you could ask another girl first. I need some time to think,” Li Mida replied, a little embarrassed.

Ma Juteng swallowed, his patience wearing thin.

“How can you be so stupid? I came all the way here for you. I even got into a car accident for you—look at my head! And now you want me to leave?”

He glared at Li Mida, his tone suddenly grave. “Let me tell you, when I, Ma Juteng, set my sights on a woman, I always get her.”

“But—” Li Mida panicked, already regretting this. He’d seemed such a gentleman in their video chats; she’d never expected this...

“Didn’t you say there were plenty of girls who wanted to rise to the top? Why force me?”

“Do you think I’m here to talk business? I came here to bed you, plain and simple,” Ma Juteng’s true colors emerged.

If she refused, he’d just take her by force, take nude photos, control her, and pimp her out to rich heirs for profit.

“I’ll ask you one last time—do you agree or not?” He glared menacingly.

“I’d rather die than agree! Look at your fat body and ugly heart—you couldn’t arouse me if you tried!”

Now furious, Li Mida stood up, her expression hostile.

“Get out right now or I’ll call the police!”

“You little—! How dare you insult me!” Ma Juteng, enraged, all 150 pounds of him lunged at her.

“Let go! Let go of me! No! Stop!” Li Mida was thrown onto the sofa, panic written all over her face. She’d never felt so hopeless.

“Beast! Stop!” Just as Li Mida was losing all hope, Ma Wu, pinching his throat to disguise his voice, spoke in a mysterious tone.

Both Ma Juteng and Li Mida froze, turning toward the living room.

“Who—who’s there?” Ma Juteng shivered.

“I am the Great Emperor of Supreme Purity Palace, cast down to this place by a failed tribulation. Wretch! How dare you commit such a vile act before me!” Ma Wu thundered nonsense in anger.

A failed tribulation? What timing, Ma Juteng cursed inwardly.

“How dare you curse me in your heart!” The invisible Ma Wu kicked Ma Juteng in the groin.

Ma Wu guessed he was being cursed internally.

After such words, it was highly likely.

“Aaaah—”

Ma Juteng clutched his groin, howling in pain.

“How did you know what I was thinking? Are you really a deity?”

“Wretch, today I will cripple you, lest you continue to harm women.” Ma Wu grabbed a glass teacup and knocked Ma Juteng out.

Then he dragged him aside. Since Ma Wu was invisible, touching Ma Juteng made him invisible as well.

Seeing Ma Juteng disappear into thin air, Li Mida was even more stunned, utterly convinced.

“Why do you look around so anxiously? I am a celestial being, not someone a mortal like you can comprehend,” Ma Wu said, feigning irritation.

At once, Li Mida panicked, dropping to her knees.

“Great Emperor, please forgive me! I realize my mistakes. May I ask where Mr. Ma has gone?”

“I have dealt with him. You may rest easy,” Ma Wu replied, trying to suppress a cough.

His throat was sore from forcing his voice.

“Thank you, Great Emperor!” Li Mida kowtowed.

Ma Wu nodded in satisfaction. “Meeting you here must be fate. You have a remarkable temperament. Though you desire fame and fortune, you do not sell yourself. Good, very good. In that case, I will grant you one wish.”

Upon hearing this, Li Mida was overjoyed. “Really? Thank you, Celestial One!”

“I wish to become a big star, and I want a successful, upright, handsome, and wealthy boyfriend.”

Wow, she’s greedy—two wishes disguised as one. Clever.

“That’s a rather unusual wish. I can’t grant it instantly, but I can point you in the right direction. If you follow my instructions, your dream will come true.”

Ma Wu’s throat itched unbearably, but he pressed on. “Your landlord, Ma Wu—he has inexhaustible wealth and will become a successful, handsome, rich man. From now on, within the next forty-eight hours, you must seduce him and sleep with him. Once you’re together, your dreams will begin to come true.”

“But remember, Ma Wu has a strong will and upstanding character. He won’t be easily seduced, so you’ll have to put in some effort. If you miss the forty-eight-hour window, your dreams will never come true, and your life will only get worse.”

Boom.

Li Mida was shocked. Lately, she had felt so lonely, so eager to let loose with a handsome man.

Fortunately, she had encountered the Great Emperor to guide her, or she might have gone down a path of ruin.
