Chapter Twenty-One: I Am the Eldest Daughter of the Wu Family

Ma Wu shrugged. “Of course.” Then, obediently, he joined Wu Ting in another police car, one even more luxurious than the first.

Inside the car, Ma Wu glanced at the three police vehicles neatly lined up ahead of them. Unable to suppress his curiosity any longer, he turned to the SWAT officer who had questioned him earlier. “Officer, may I ask why such a large police force was dispatched to deal with a robber armed only with a knife? I thought a few regular officers would suffice, but now you’ve got riot shields and anti-riot forks. Anyone who doesn’t know better might think you’re dealing with a terrorist.”

The SWAT officer looked back at Ma Wu, silent for a moment before replying in a low voice, “You saw the news this morning, didn’t you? Yesterday, someone attacked the interrogation room, killing three witnesses and one of our officers. The authorities are furious about this incident, so now whenever we take action, we bring a large team. That’s why things are different from usual.”
