Meng Guohui sized up the high school student before him.

After Old Nine and Tan Junwen had been sent away, the anger in Yan Yu’s heart finally ebbed, and he no longer radiated the sharp hostility that he had just displayed. Now, he looked much more like an innocuous high schooler.

If Meng Guohui hadn’t witnessed Yan Yu’s fury moments earlier, he wouldn’t have believed that this student was that woman’s godson.

Terrifying.

It wasn’t just Yan Yu; his godmother was equally daunting. When Meng Guohui had received that woman’s phone call earlier, he’d nearly been too frightened to walk.

Upon learning that it was his own subordinate, Old Nine, who had provoked Yan Yu, Meng Guohui had even concealed a pistol inside his jacket—prepared, if necessary, to sacrifice Old Nine and leave Yan Yu with a good impression.

Fortunately, Yan Yu was not as ruthless as his godmother, which allowed Meng Guohui to breathe easier.

"Young Master Yan, do you have time tonight? Would you honor me with a meal?" Meng Guohui asked with a smile.

Yan Yu shook his head. "I have something to do today—maybe next time."

"Very well. If you’re busy, I won’t keep you," Meng Guohui nodded, turned, and settled into his Audi. He glanced thoughtfully at Su Han, then drove away.

He was acutely self-aware.

Yan Yu was not someone he could hope to ingratiate himself with at this stage. Simply having Yan Yu accept his business card was already a source of delight for Meng Guohui; he dared not hope for more.

Moreover, from Yan Yu’s gaze, it was clear he had no desire to be entangled with Meng Guohui, so Meng Guohui decisively left, lest he become a hindrance. If Yan Yu ever truly needed something from him, he could always reappear then.

Once Meng Guohui departed, Zhao Qingqing immediately exclaimed, "Honey, you were so handsome just now! I really want to have your babies!"

With his anger dissipated, Yan Yu’s expression softened. He smiled at Zhao Qingqing.

"Tan Junwen won’t bother you again," Yan Yu said to Su Han.

Su Han bit her lower lip and asked quietly, "Who are you, really?"

Even Meng Guohui treated Yan Yu with deference. Suddenly, Su Han realized she could no longer see through him; his background must be vastly more formidable than her own.

"I’d like to ask you the same—who are you?" Yan Yu looked at Su Han with a half-smile.

Su Han lowered her head and fell silent. She’d concealed her own identity from Yan Yu, so he wouldn’t reveal his either. Perhaps it was best to let the mutual secrets rest; maybe they could continue to get along.

"Not going to speak? Do you also think I was stunning just now and want to have my babies?" Yan Yu teased. "Teacher Su, there’s a proper order to things—I must look after Qingqing’s feelings first, but don’t worry, I’ll be fair to everyone."

"Go to hell!"

Su Han slapped Yan Yu hard across the face.

"Domestic violence!" Yan Yu cried, clutching his cheek.

Watching them banter, Zhang Dagen couldn’t help but envy them deeply.

Young Master Yan truly deserved his reputation—success in both love and career!

Some chased juniors, others seniors, but Yan Yu was extraordinary; he pursued the homeroom teacher!

After some playful scuffling, Su Han suddenly became serious and said to Yan Yu, "Tan Junwen already knows we’re sharing an apartment, but I hope you won’t tell anyone else."

"Embarrassed?" Yan Yu grinned.

Su Han shot him a glare. "Because I refused to date Tan Junwen, my family cut off my financial support. That’s why I’m renting with you. But once my parents relent, I’ll move out immediately."

"Isn’t living with your husband nice? With me around, Tan Junwen wouldn’t dare bother you again," Zhao Qingqing chimed in.

"You two are comfortable, sure, but am I supposed to watch you lovebirds flaunt your affection every day?" Su Han retorted.

"Hehe, if you can’t stand it, just join us! The three of us could live shamelessly together..."

"Ugh!" Su Han blushed at Zhao Qingqing’s words, and Yan Yu was amazed to see her like this for the first time—he stared, momentarily spellbound.

"What are you looking at? Aren’t you going to get back to business?" Su Han snapped.

Yan Yu snapped out of it, grinning mischievously. "Right, right, back to business!"

For a fleeting moment, Yan Yu felt that sharing the same bed might not be so far-fetched after all.

Since they were moving, Zhao Qingqing’s giant Hello Kitty plush toy was naturally the first item to be transported. When Yan Yu and Su Han returned to Xinghua Community, the two of them carried the human-sized plush, attracting plenty of attention.

Many elderly residents with grandchildren out for a stroll watched Yan Yu and Su Han moving their things, mistakenly thinking they were a young couple. They smiled kindly and knowingly, as if witnessing their own grandchildren finding love.

But Yan Yu felt nothing romantic about it. After all, this plush toy had once concealed a corpse. Although Su Han had handled it so there was no lingering stench, in Yan Yu’s eyes, it was saturated with sinister energy and resentment—a truly cursed object.

Zhao Qingqing hovered nearby, cheering them on.

Once they finally reached the eleventh floor, Yan Yu took out his keys and opened the door, immediately hearing Master Cao’s roar: "Annie, ult! Quick, ult! Damn, got wiped again!"

"Old Cao?"

Yan Yu followed the voice to the bedroom, where he saw Master Cao seated at the computer, engrossed in playing League of Legends, with the dimwitted ghost Feng Liang standing behind him, watching intently.

"Hey, you’re back?" Master Cao turned around.

"What’s going on? I thought the computer was broken," Yan Yu asked, puzzled.

Master Cao chuckled. "I was bored and tried to fix it. Turns out I managed to get it working, so I couldn’t resist playing a few rounds."

"You play League?"

"Of course! Back in the day, I was the Little White Dragon of Rong City, a master in the top server!"

"What happened after that?"

"Well, I squandered all my savings on loot boxes and prizes, so I resolved to become a righteous hero robbing the rich to help the poor."

"I’ve seen you rob the rich, but what about helping the poor?"

"Heh, I rob others and help myself." Master Cao laughed sheepishly.

"…"

Yan Yu realized that Master Cao was quite the trendsetter—over fifty, yet he still had such youthful enthusiasm, something to envy.

Yan Yu glanced at Feng Liang, who stood by Master Cao’s side. "What’s his story?"

"I was scared of him at first, but once I started playing League, he stood behind me and occasionally gave advice. Turns out the kid’s got talent, and he’s only fourteen. With proper training, he could go pro and bring glory to the nation!"
