Su Han glanced out the window, then gritted her teeth and said, “Can you just let me have a moment’s peace? What do you want? Say it quickly!”

Yan Yu chuckled mischievously. “Just help me keep Li Kang and the others locked up for the night, and I’ll be at your disposal tonight.”

Su Han rolled her eyes. “So, you want to bribe me so you can get back at Li Kang?”

“Just say yes or no. If you refuse, I’ll go over there right now and beat him so badly he’ll be picking his teeth up off the floor.”

“…Wait right here.”

Irritated, Su Han left the room. Under Yan Yu’s watchful gaze, she soon found Zhang Dagen.

“Captain Zhang, I need to talk to you about Li Kang,” Su Han said. “Even though Li Kang’s actions were serious, you know he has connections. So after I take Yan Yu with me, just let Li Kang go.”

“Huh?” Zhang Dagen was taken aback. “But Yan Yu just said…”

“Are you listening to him, or to me?” Su Han’s expression darkened.

Zhang Dagen felt wronged. Su Han was the one person in the school, other than Principal Deng, that no one dared provoke. Yan Yu, on the other hand, had the principal’s protection. Zhang Dagen was caught between a rock and a hard place. Still, comparing the two, Su Han seemed the more formidable, so he nodded and reluctantly agreed.

Satisfied, Su Han nodded and returned to the security office. She crooked her finger at Yan Yu. “Come on, let’s go to my dorm.”

“Exciting!” Yan Yu leaped up from his seat, his eyes narrowing with glee.

With Li Kang locked in the security office and both Da Fei and Zhang Dagen watching over him, Yan Yu was certain Zhao Qingqing wouldn’t dare show up.

As for himself—well, he couldn’t help but grin.

After Su Han left with Yan Yu, Zhang Dagen went to another security room and released Li Kang and Da Fei.

“Wasn’t Teacher Su going to call our parents?” Li Kang asked, puzzled.

“Li Kang, you’ve got powerful connections, everyone knows that. We wouldn’t dare keep you here any longer,” Zhang Dagen replied with a forced smile.

Li Kang laughed arrogantly. “What about Yan Yu?”

“Teacher Su took him away…”

“Lucky bastard!” Li Kang snorted. “This isn’t over.”

Da Fei, standing nearby, hesitated as if wanting to say something, but in the end, he held his tongue. He still had to visit his injured little brother in the hospital. After stretching a bit at the security room door, Li Kang didn’t head home. Instead, he strode off into the campus.

By now, it was past nine o’clock. Evening self-study was nearly over, and the campus streetlights flickered uncertainly.

Li Kang failed to notice that the shadow following at his heels seemed to have long hair…

Yan Yu swaggered behind Su Han as they made their way to Peach Blossom Building No. 2. With Su Han leading the way, the dorm supervisor didn’t try to stop Yan Yu, and they made it up to the fourth floor unimpeded.

Most of the boarding students were still at evening study, so the corridor was empty. When Su Han opened the door to Room 411, a distinctly feminine fragrance drifted into Yan Yu’s nose.

Su Han’s dormitory was meticulously tidy. Cute cartoon wallpaper adorned the walls, and on the bed sat a large Hello Kitty plush doll—so big it stood nearly as tall as a person and could easily hide someone inside.

“Didn’t expect Teacher Su to have such a girlish heart,” Yan Yu teased, making himself comfortable on the bed and glancing around.

“Take your shoes off, don’t dirty my bed,” Su Han warned.

“My pants aren’t exactly clean either…”

Su Han spat at him. “You’re so young, yet your mind’s already in the gutter? I have to go on inspection after evening study lets out. Stay here in my dorm, and when I get back…”

“I get it, I get it!” Yan Yu grinned.

“Hopeless!” Su Han rolled her eyes at him and poured him a cup of hot water.

“You just transferred to Rongcheng No. 1 High, how did you already get into it with Li Kang?” As a teacher, she needed to understand the conflicts between students.

Yan Yu shrugged. “Li Kang just doesn’t look like a good person.”

“And you think you do?” Su Han retorted.

“These days, girls like bad boys. I might look a bit rough, but I’m good-hearted, I swear!”

“Save that for the elementary schoolers,” Su Han scoffed, checking the time. “I have to go on my rounds. Don’t go anywhere until I come back.”

“I know, I know!”

After Su Han left, Yan Yu watched TV for a while, then quietly stood up.

“What are you really up to, Su Han?” he muttered, the previous lecherous grin gone, replaced by suspicion.

He didn’t believe for a second that Su Han genuinely wanted anything to happen between them. Her intentions were too obvious. Things out of the ordinary were always suspect, and since Yan Yu had encountered a drowned ghost disguised as Su Han before, he was even more wary of her motives.

The teacher’s dorms were converted student rooms; Su Han’s was just about twenty square meters, furnished with only a bed and a sofa.

It didn’t take Yan Yu long to make a discovery. On Su Han’s bedside table, he found a photograph. In it, Su Han stood shoulder to shoulder with a girl who appeared to be holding a scholarship certificate.

The girl beside Su Han was sweet-looking, with long hair and big eyes. Her smile was a little shy, but there were dimples on her cheeks and kindness in her eyes.

“Zhao Qingqing…”

Yan Yu quickly recognized her.

Just then, the dorm door opened, and Yan Yu hurriedly sat back on the bed.

“Did you wait long?” Su Han took off her jacket and smiled lightly at Yan Yu. “Do you want to take a shower?”

“Uh… no need, really. I showered this morning, and I didn’t bring any toiletries.”

“Then wait here for me. I’ll go take a shower…” Su Han’s voice softened, dripping with seduction. She took a pink towel from the balcony and went into the bathroom.

Soon, the sound of rushing water filled the room, drumming against Yan Yu’s nerves and making him itch with anticipation.

When the shower finally ended, Yan Yu sighed in relief—only to look up and feel his blood surge.

Su Han emerged with only a towel wrapped around her, nothing underneath. Her bare white shoulders caught the light, impossibly alluring.

Gulp.

Yan Yu swallowed hard.

With a sultry smile, Su Han sat on the bed and patted the spot beside her. “What are you still doing over there, silly? Come over here.”

“I…”

Almost involuntarily, Yan Yu went to her side. Su Han grabbed his hand, pressing it to her chest, and with her other hand, she turned off the only light in the room…

At that moment, only one thought echoed in Yan Yu’s mind:

Amitabha, this is Mount Everest!
