Chapter 133: Liu Yuxin, the Divine Healer [4]

“So you’re Liu Yuxin… Doctor Liu?” Yan Yu stared at the bespectacled girl in astonishment.
In his imagination, the Doctor Liu Big Mama had mentioned ought to have been a frail old man. Yet the real Liu Yuxin was a woman in her twenties, wearing a pair of enormous round glasses!
“What is it? Didn’t expect me to be this young? Or didn’t expect me to be a woman?”
“I didn’t expect Doctor Liu to be a woman—and such a young and beautiful one at that,” Yan Yu said with a smile.
Up close, Liu Yuxin had fair skin and bright eyes. Her long, wavy hair was tied behind her head with a hairband, presumably to make working more convenient.
Her large, round glasses did nothing to diminish her youthful charm. She had a full, slightly plump figure that made her look soft and rather adorable.
What left the deepest impression, however, were Liu Yuxin’s fingers. They were slender and delicate, without a single scar, and even her nails were trimmed perfectly. If she became a hand model, every major jewelry company would probably fight to hire her.
Yet those beautiful hands were used to heal the sick and save lives.
While Yan Yu stood there in a daze, Dafei and the others had already carried their injured brothers into Yuxin Hall. Liu Yuxin crouched down and gave them a brief examination before immediately beginning treatment.
She could reset a dislocated joint in just a few seconds, and even treating a fracture took her very little time.
Such skill truly deserved the title of miracle healer!
“As expected of the legendary miracle healer Liu Yuxin. Your medical skill is extraordinary, Doctor Liu. No wonder Boss Meng sent us all this way to ask you to treat him,” Mountain Rooster said with a grin.
Liu Yuxin effortlessly reset Mountain Rooster’s bones, then said, “Don’t move around. I’m going inside to get splints and bandages, and I’ll prepare some anti-inflammatory medicine as well. You’ll all recover soon.”
Everyone nodded repeatedly.
“You two, come in and help me.” Liu Yuxin turned to Yan Yu and Master Cao.
Yan Yu and Master Cao exchanged a glance, then hurried after Liu Yuxin into the back room of Yuxin Hall. The room was filled with all kinds of medical equipment, along with a simple hospital bed. A portrait of the divine physician Hua Tuo hung on the wall above it.
“I never knew there was a whole hidden world behind Yuxin Hall!” Master Cao looked around. He suddenly noticed numerous small jars on a shelf and picked one up to smell it. “What’s inside this?”
“Golden juice,” Liu Yuxin replied as she sorted through the supplies.
The word “golden” immediately caught Master Cao’s interest. “What kind of gold is that? How many karats? Is it worth anything?”
As he spoke, he sniffed the jar even more vigorously.

Yan Yu could stand it no longer. He stopped Master Cao and said, “Golden juice is children’s poop.”
“What?!”
Master Cao’s face instantly turned green. He hurriedly put the jar back and gave an embarrassed laugh. “I never knew Doctor Liu had a hobby of collecting poop…”
Liu Yuxin rolled her eyes at him. “Golden juice is a folk Chinese medicine. Children’s feces are mixed with well water and red earth, then buried underground for thirty years before they can be refined. It can treat poisoning caused by epidemic febrile illnesses. Genuine golden juice is more precious than gold itself… And, by the way, I do not have any strange hobbies.”
“I see…” Master Cao could not help sneaking another few glances at the jar.
Once Liu Yuxin had gathered the splints and bandages, she had Master Cao take them outside while she began preparing the anti-inflammatory medicine.
Yan Yu stood quietly to one side without interrupting her.
Suddenly, Liu Yuxin frowned as she worked.
“Doctor Liu, is something wrong?” Yan Yu asked curiously.
Liu Yuxin turned around. “I… don’t have a very good memory. I forgot the formula for the anti-inflammatory medicine. Could you go over to that bookshelf and bring me the prescription?”
Yan Yu was both amused and helpless. Could someone with such a poor memory really be a doctor?
Still, seeing the usually composed Liu Yuxin reveal such a forgetful side made her seem strangely adorable and absent-minded.
He turned to fetch the prescription and noticed that Liu Yuxin’s desk stood beside the bookshelf. The wall in front of it was covered with sticky notes, all recording scattered little reminders: what time she should eat, when a delivery was due to arrive, and so on.
It seemed her memory really was terrible.
“The prescription is in the fifth book on the third shelf. It’s tucked between pages 369 and 370,” Liu Yuxin suddenly called out.
Yan Yu paused. He followed her instructions, and sure enough, he found the formula for the anti-inflammatory medicine inside a medical text.
“Doctor Liu, your memory is… rather mischievous,” Yan Yu said with a smile.
“My memory is good sometimes and bad at others. I remember certain things with incredible clarity, while others vanish in the blink of an eye…” Liu Yuxin suddenly looked puzzled. “Wait, who are you? And why are you in my back room?”
“…”
Yan Yu was speechless.
“I’m only joking!” Liu Yuxin burst out laughing. “You saved my life. I could never forget you.”
Yan Yu suddenly remembered what Big Mama had told him. She had said that Liu Yuxin needed his help. Since he had just rescued her from One-Eyed Dragon’s men, that counted as helping her, didn’t it?

“What’s your name?” Liu Yuxin asked.
“My name is Yan Yu. The Yan comes from the King of Hell.”
“The surname Yan isn’t very common, and you even introduce yourself using the King of Hell himself. Aren’t you afraid of shortening your life?” Liu Yuxin said with a light laugh.
“Big Mama says I have a hard life. Even if the King of Hell himself came, he still couldn’t take me.”
“Is that because of your Yin-Yang Arm?”
Yan Yu’s expression stiffened. He looked at Liu Yuxin. “You know about my arm?”
“The Yin and Yang forces within a normal person are balanced. Only in a few people is the Yin energy greater than the Yang energy. I can sense it. Besides…” Liu Yuxin raised her hand. “I’m the same as you.”
At last, Yan Yu sensed what was different about her fingers.
They were filled with an abundance of Yin energy!
Su Han’s Yin-Yang Eyes were like this. Yan Yu’s Yin-Yang Arm was like this. And Liu Yuxin possessed ten Yin-Yang Fingers!
Yan Yu began to understand. Liu Yuxin handed him the anti-inflammatory medicine she had finished preparing, and the two of them walked outside together.
After explaining to Master Cao and Dafei how to use the splints and bandages, Liu Yuxin finally had a moment to rest. She poured Yan Yu a glass of water and sat down inside the wrecked shop.
“You came looking for me. Is there something you need?” she asked.
Yan Yu quickly took out Yang Xuefei’s necklace. “Doctor Liu, do you know what this is?”
Liu Yuxin accepted the necklace and carefully examined the tiny ginseng figure inside it. Then she slapped her forehead.
“I forgot.”
“...Can you remember?”
Yan Yu was once again defeated by Liu Yuxin’s memory.
“Let me look it up.”
With that, Liu Yuxin hurried back to the bookshelf. A moment later, she returned with an ancient book in her hands.
“Found it! This is it. This thing is a ghost ginseng!”
